Bosch

The story of Bosch

Bosch is a German engineering and technology company, founded in 1886 by Robert Bosch.

Bosch has its headquarters in Gerlingen, Germany, but produces and sells its products worldwide.

The company invented a low-current magnet for gas engines in 1887 and installed a magnet starter in cars, thereby becoming a supplier of starter systems for cars around the world.

In 1902, Bosch introduced the first magnet starter with spark plugs for cars and began to expand its production with more factories and also started producing headlights for cars.

So in the early years, the main focus was on automotive technology, and this continued for many years to come, also expanding into windshield wipers, fuel injectors, car radios, and drills.

After World War II, much of Bosch's production lay in ruins, and to get started again, the company formed a partnership with the Japanese company Denso.

In 1976, an oxygen sensor was launched, and already in 1979, electric motor control was introduced, and later in 1986, the company launched the traction control system, which can also be found in modern cars.

In 2002, Bosch acquired Philips CSI, which produced communication and safety equipment.

In the early 2000s, Bosch began developing tools for professional craftsmen, such as drills, electric saws, and other electric machines.

As Bosch developed the company and product range to also include household products and tools for consumers, their name became firmly established among private consumers.

In this context, many subsidiaries were established that still today are part of the Bosch group, such as:

  • Junkers
  • Dremel
  • Siemens (under license)
  • Bosch Car Service
  • Zexel
  • HC Cargo
  • AutoCrew
  • And many more

5 reasons to choose Bosch

There are many good reasons to choose Bosch, which is a solid brand that stands for German thoroughness and quality, and therefore we have selected the 5 best reasons, which you can find below.

#1 - Known for quality

Bosch is known for the quality of its products, which is very high, and this is supported by their many best-in-test results from independent testing companies.

It is evident that Bosch always strives for the best quality, and the longevity of the products confirms that the company manages to keep quality high.

When you buy a Bosch product, you can be sure of getting a product that is both durable, functional, and efficient.

Durability is important for Bosch, partly because they work very intensively with sustainability in production, and the longer the durability, the better it is for the environment in the long run.

Bosch also focuses on quality in relation to sustainability, and therefore they are constantly developing their products to become more energy-efficient.

#2 - Solid experience and technological development

Bosch has a long and solid experience based on its long history, and the experience spans many areas, but always something to do with electronics.

The company invests large sums in both research and innovation, which results in their products being innovative, forward-thinking, and in tune with the times.

Their innovative approach to product development, both for consumers and professionals, means that Bosch is often first with new solutions and new products.

There are more than 76,000 engineers and scientists employed in the Bosch group worldwide, all working within a specific area in Bosch's many product lines.

This ensures that the company can always stay ahead of developments.

#3 - Precision

The thoughtful design, precision, and innovation have always been part of the Bosch group, since the start in 1886.

The company was started by a craftsman with a special eye for precision and design, which he managed to build a global business around.

At the same time, the founder was able to pass on and ensure qualities such as Precision and design, as well as the ability to think outside the box.

You experience precision in both tools and household machines, where everything has been considered; you can often just press a button and the machine does the rest, more or less.

When you buy a piece of tool, for example, there has been thought put into that the jigsaw might need a scale, so you can see where the blade is in relation to the edge, precisely.

On the iron, you can precisely set the temperature for the piece of fabric you are going to iron, turn on the iron, and just start ironing away.

#4 - Reliability

Bosch is a product you can trust, both in terms of the machine actually being able to perform the work it was purchased for, but also regarding its longevity.

The durability of a Bosch product is long, as the products are designed to last, be used, and function.

Whether it's a hand blender or a drill, or an electric component in a car, it is a durable piece of craftsmanship made from high-quality materials and with German thoroughness.

#5 - Sustainability

Bosch wants to improve the quality of life for people and secure the planet for future generations, which is why they act economically responsibly, improve their production for the benefit of the environment, and act socially responsibly.

With more than 400 locations around the world, Bosch has managed to become climate neutral, and they are also working to make it even better.

Among other things, they focus on the indirect emissions from both suppliers and administration throughout the value chain.

They aim to achieve their sustainability goals by being better at utilizing surplus energy, using green electricity and clean energy sources such as wind, solar, and hydropower.

Additionally, they are continually developing the products themselves, ensuring that they become more and more energy-efficient while requiring less and less packaging during transport between factories and distributors.

Bosch products can therefore be the right choice if you want sustainable products in your home.
