Computer Mounting with Many Options

Here on the page you will find our selection of computer mountings, which offer many options for getting your computer hung up.

A computer mounting allows you to hang your computer up in various places and get it off the floor and away from dust.

Computer mounting is also often referred to as a CPU mounting, and the purpose is to ensure your computer hangs securely and at a safe distance from the floor dust.

If you are unsure which computer mounting to choose, what to look for, or why you should hang your computer up, read on below, where we have gathered some useful information about computer mountings.

5 Things You Should Know When Looking for Computer Mounting

There are many forms of computer mounting, but do you know why it can be good to use, what to look for, and how to choose the right one?

Below we have gathered some useful knowledge about computer mountings that can help you in your quest for the perfect fit for your needs.

#1 - The Function of Computer Mounting

Many people have their computer tower standing on the floor under the desk, so it doesn't take up space on the actual tabletop, but it's not always good for the computer and cables to have it standing on the floor.

When your computer is on the floor, it is exposed to much more dust and dirt that swirls around the computer.

The most important function of a computer mounting is to provide you with an easy way to lift your computer to a good distance from the dust, while also avoiding unnecessary stretching of the cables.

Dust can enter the computer through the ventilation openings and mean that the computer may have a harder time getting rid of the heat generated by the various components inside the computer.

At the same time, the fan can become so dirty that its function is reduced, and when the computer cannot expel heat, you risk a significant performance decrease.

If you have a height-adjustable desk and the computer is standing under it, you may risk damaging your cables when you raise and lower the desk, as they are stretched and crumpled together repeatedly, not to mention they can get caught in the desk's lift/lower mechanism.

#2 - Computer Mounting Under Desk

You can find computer mountings in many designs, and one of these is a computer mounting for desks.

A desk computer mounting allows you to mount the mounting under the desktop, so the computer follows the height of the desk and has a good distance to the floor.

At the same time, it ensures that the airflow around the computer is optimal, allowing the computer to expel heat.

Computer mountings for desks can have many designs and can range from a bracket that is tightened onto the tabletop, which has some straps that hold the computer, to a complete rack that is secured under the desk and where the computer is placed inside.

The advantage of a solution with straps is that the straps can be adjusted to fit almost any size computer, whereas a stand has a limited dimension for the computer to fit inside the stand.

The advantage of mounting the computer in a computer mounting under the desk is that you have easier access to plugs, replace cables, and in general handle the computer, because you do not have to bend down, as the computer is right at hand under the tabletop.

#3 - Computer Mounting for Wall

Perhaps you would rather have the computer mounted on a wall, rather than under the desk, and in that case, you need to get a computer mounting for the wall.

With a wall-mounted computer mounting, the computer can be kept away from the dust on the floor and, for example, be mounted on the wall next to the desk.

This provides easier access to the computer and cables while being placed almost anywhere you want in relation to your desk or workstation.

Computer mountings for walls are often designed as racks that are screwed onto the wall, after which the computer is pushed into the rack and secured.

A rack has often, even if it is adjustable, a maximum dimension for the size of your computer, and this may mean that if you change computers, you need to acquire another rack.

However, most computer mountings for walls are adjustable and can be adapted in width, depth, and height.

#4 - Types of Computer Mountings

There are many different types of computer mountings, and depending on where you want the computer mounting installed, some types may be more advisable to use than others.

Computer Mounting with Straps

One of the most commonly used types of computer mountings is a strap-mounted, where nylon, leather, or plastic straps hold the computer.

This type of mounting consists of a metal bracket that is screwed under the tabletop and through which two straps are passed, which can be tightened in and out, and are placed around the computer tower.

When the straps are positioned around the computer, they are tightened so the computer is held against the bracket and sits securely and stably.

It is an incredibly simple and highly discreet mounting, which can be adapted to almost all sizes of computers, making this type of computer mounting very popular.

Stand for Computer Mounting

A stand for computer mounting is another type of computer mounting that supports the computer much more, compared to the type with straps, both from above, the sides, and from below.

The stand is more robust, and the computer stands securely; many stands also lock the computer in place with a form of clamp.

Stands for computer mounting can also often be mounted on the wall, as it is a more fixed computer mounting, thus securely holding the computer in place on the wall.

However, many stands are designed for a specific size of computers, and this means that if the computer is too large or too small, it cannot fit in or stand securely in the stand, but once that is said, many stands can be adjusted a little in both width and height, so they can accommodate smaller variations in size.

Hook for Computer Mounting

The last type of computer mounting resembles a hook and is quite simple in design but can often hold quite large computers.

The mounting is a type of flat hanger that goes from the tabletop down one side of the computer, under the bottom, and a small piece up the other side.

Here the computer is held in place by being tightened against the tabletop, and due to the design, this type is rarely suitable for wall mounting but is extremely suitable for mounting under a desk.

#5 - Advantages of Computer Mounting

There are many advantages to placing the computer in a computer mounting, either under the desk or on the wall.

  • It often becomes much easier to vacuum under the desk, as there are no cables on the floor and you do not have to move the computer around.
  • You do not need to open the computer tower as often to remove dirt and dust from the fan and other components inside the computer.
  • The computer is placed with good airflow around it, so it can better expel heat.
  • It is easier to access plugs and cables, as well as operate the computer
  • The cables are not unnecessarily stretched or risk being pinched
  • You save space on the floor
