Choose the best fan for you - look for these 5 things

Considering the different types of fans, it is important that you make some good choices when you finally have to decide which air blower to use for your office, room, living room, or wherever you desire a more pleasant climate.

Watch our short video below, where we explain a bit about the different cooling options you can choose from:

#1 - Fan type

You need to think about where you will place your fan and how strong the motor should be.

For those who want a powerful fan with high power for a larger room, investing in either a floor fan or air cooler is the obvious choice.

If you need a less powerful fan for a small room, for example, a bedroom, you should invest in a table fan.

If you need to use it in multiple rooms or desire quieter air cooling, a portable air conditioning unit can also be a good solution.

If you're looking for an office fan or a fan for the living room, you may benefit from investing in a tower fan. This fan is much more stylish and discreet in a stylish room.

You can read much more about the different types of fans in our selection further down this page.

#2 - Placement and location

There are incredibly many different fans as we have described above.

In addition to the type you choose, it’s also important to consider where it should stand and be used.

The most common way people use them is often in either a workplace or at home, but for example, you can also use a fan in a camper.

For the camper, it’s a good idea to use a variant that doesn’t take up too much space, here a tower fan or slim floor fan is a good choice.

Remember also to place your fan optimally, so it cools as much of the room as possible.

Corners are often the most popular placement, as this provides the best circulation.

#3 - Power consumption

Various fans use quite different amounts of power.

For example, a regular table fan uses significantly less power than a portable air conditioner.

Even though this is the case, many still choose a cooling fan as these units cool much faster, which balances the power consumption a bit.

Most people rarely have an air conditioning unit turned on all day, whereas a normal fan often stays on for large parts of the warm hours, as it needs to run continuously to keep you cool on hot days.

You can always compare power consumption between similar models by checking their wattage on their individual product pages.

#4 - Features

Across the different fans in our selection, a range of different features are available.

If you're interested in a smart remote control for your fan, so you don't have to set it manually, this is available in our selection.

Additionally, there are other features such as:

  • Speed settings
  • Imitation of natural breezes
  • Smart home integration
  • Automatic on/off function
  • Timer function
  • Automatic rotation

The features often vary significantly between the different types of fans.

For example, a portable air conditioner often has very different features from a regular air blower.

#5 - Ease of use

When you choose the perfect fan for your needs, it’s important that the ease of use matches your preferences.

This can include factors such as:

  • Portability - Can it be easily moved and set up nicely?
  • Layout - Are the buttons easy to understand/use, is there confusion about the functions?
  • Installation/setup - How long does it take, and is it complicated to set up the fan the first time?

These, as well as other factors, are important to know before making your purchase.

Always check the product description to make sure it meets your needs for cooling, design, efficiency, etc.

What types of different fans are there?

There are actually more than a couple of different fans. Before you invest in a fan, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the types of fans, which all have different specifications and features.

Table fan

The most classic form of ventilation available is, of course, the very traditional table fan, which is often also a good cheap fan.

It is a small, very practical fan designed to be placed on a table.

The table fan is a smaller fan, but it usually has a powerful enough motor to cool an entire room.

Most are also made in such a way that the fan can be adjusted to different angles.

USB fan

An even smaller table fan, which is much more convenient when you need a fan while on the go, is a USB fan.

All you have to do is connect it via a USB cable to your computer, and you are ready to get cooled down.

You don’t need access to a dedicated power supply, which is very nice if, for example, you are studying in a reading room on a summer day, but of course also both at the office, at home, or elsewhere.

A USB fan is not very large, so you can easily carry it in your bag and keep it next to you without it being a hassle for yourself or others.

At the same time, you can also choose the direction of the airflow depending on how you want to be cooled down.

Floor fan

A floor fan is also one of the more traditional fans available on the market.

It is very similar to a table fan but has a base and stand so it can be placed on the floor.

Floor fans are built a bit sturdier than table fans, both due to their size and because they have a more powerful motor.

Floor fans are effective in cooling a room and usually come with several different speed settings.

Tower fan

Another type of fan is the tower fan. This type of fan is somewhat similar to the air cooler and helps to circulate air around and cool a room.

A tower fan is, however, much more discreet than the other fans and has a more design-oriented look.

It is good as an office fan or at home in the living room.

This type of air blower often has several different settings that determine how much air is circulated around the room and how fast the motor operates.

Therefore, several different levels can be used depending on how warm the indoor climate is.

Air cooler

Air coolers are effective in creating a good indoor climate in offices or at home on hot days.

Air coolers are somewhat more effective in creating a better indoor climate because the fans utilize the air and circulate it, cooling it down and purifying it.

This type of cooling fan is therefore much better at creating cold air than completely normal fans, but still not as good as air conditioning.

They significantly contribute to achieving a more pleasant air ventilation and a better, healthier indoor climate.

Air conditioning

The most expensive, but certainly also the most effective form of fan is a dedicated air conditioning.

Air conditioning uses a specific type of refrigerant/element that can cool the rooms in your home to a much greater degree than other types of fans.

At avXperten, we offer several different mobile air conditioning units that ensure you have a completely cooled and comfortably tempered home even on the hottest summer days.

An air conditioner actively cools the air, and the mobile units are practical because you can move them from, for example, the bedroom or children's room to the living room, or wherever you might need them.

Banish the heat with a cheap fan

In Denmark, most days of the year are either very or somewhat too cold for many of us.

We can easily find ourselves complaining about how cold a country we live in.

But when spring comes and the temperature sneaks up to around 15 degrees, everyone is happy and takes picnic blankets, food baskets, and cold beers to the green, or unpacks the grill and garden furniture at home.

Months pass, summer comes and with it a high, oppressive humidity and temperature.

But if you get a cheap fan, those hot summer days won’t be a problem for you.

Fans are very practical when it gets a bit too warm outside. They help create a more pleasant temperature and ventilation indoors.

Additionally, fans are also available in different types and levels.

There are, for example, fans for both floors and tables, so whether you want your fan to be placed on a table or on the floor, you can undoubtedly find the right fan.

In addition to the placement of the fans, they also come in different levels.

The different levels help dictate how much air the fan should provide and how quickly the fans should turn.

Therefore, it may be a good idea to invest in a good fan that can contribute to creating a more pleasant temperature and more comfortable air ventilation.
