The story of avXperten begins in 2007, when Frederik and his little brother Nikolaj were in the middle of an exciting LEGO project. They were building a detailed LEGO city, but were missing specific electronic components for their creation. After searching in vain in Denmark, they chose to import the parts from Germany. When they had more components than they needed, the idea arose to start a webshop where they could sell the excess products. This was the beginning of avXperten.
Frederik started the business, and when Nikolaj had completed his education, he joined the business, and the brothers were now able to jointly take the business to the next level.
Today, avXperten has a much wider range than just electronic components. The company offers products within toys, outdoor equipment, baby items, tools and much more. It is a webshop where you can find everything from highly specialized cables to everyday items.
But even though the range has grown significantly, the core of avXperten's philosophy remains the same: It's about delivering products quickly, safely and at a fair price. Customers keep coming back because they feel safe shopping with avXperten. They know they can rely on the fast, reliable delivery. It is this trust that underpins avXperten's goal of becoming one of their customers' preferred e-commerce companies.
avXperten is founded by Frederik Nielsen. The first goods are packed and shipped from a small basement apartment in Grenaa.
For the first time, the avXpert moves away from home and gets its own premises centrally in Grenaa, which quickly turn out to be too small.
For a period, avXperten grows year after year, selling cables and electronic components throughout Europe. Year after year, it moves to new and larger rented warehouses.
Plans for a new home to house both current and future growth are starting to take hold. Plans are being made for a warehouse large enough to house avXpert for many years to come. Sales abroad are being put on hold in order to keep up with growth in Denmark and continue to deliver the best service.
The newly built 1,100 m2 warehouse and headquarters in Grenaa are complete. At the same time, an investment is being made in 6 Kardex warehouse robots, which will increase the speed of dispatch to customers, reduce the space requirement and make work significantly easier for employees.
Plans are underway for an extension to the headquarters in Grenaa. The large building from 2017 has already become space-limited.
A warehouse extension of an additional 2,000 m2 is inaugurated with a visit from the mayor. The warehouse now houses 20 Kardex storage machines, all of which are utilized every single day to increase dispatch speed.
The range is rapidly expanding, the goal of becoming consumers' preferred e-commerce destination is still the north star at avXperten.
