Smartphone - smart features for all needs

Here on the site, you will find the complete selection of Smartphones, offering many great features for all needs.

A Smartphone is basically an intelligent mobile phone, which can best be compared to a computer the size of your pocket.

Smartphones are typically divided into types, determined by the operating system itself, and examples of types can be:

  • Android phones
  • IOS phones
  • Windows phones

There can be differences in the user interface, where you need to download apps from, and the appearance itself, but they can all perform the same functions.

When you look for a new phone, it can gradually be difficult to find a mobile phone that is not a Smartphone, and if you do not care for all the extra features, it can be a bit overwhelming.

Fortunately, there are Smartphones made for almost every need, whether you want a phone that can do little more than make calls, send texts, and browse the internet, or for the more advanced users, who have so many features that ordinary people will rarely use them all.

Below, we have gathered some things you can consider to help you find the right Smartphone for you.

10 things you need to know when looking for a new Smartphone

Below are 10 things you can consider before you start looking for a new Smartphone, which may help you find the perfect Smartphone.

#1 - What is your need?

When you are looking for a Smartphone, it can be advantageous to think about what your needs are: should it be a full-fledged Smartphone, with all the features that can be obtained, or should it perhaps be a Smartphone that only has the most basic features?

It may also be that you have a special need for physical buttons or specific accessibility features or similar.

In any case, it can be easier to find the Smartphone that best fits your needs if you are aware of what those needs are, as the selection of Smartphones is very large.

#2 - What is your price range?

If you do not want to spend several thousand kroner on a Smartphone, you can already adjust your selection down a bit here.

If you want the latest model, you will quickly move up to another price level and a somewhat larger selection.

So go for a Smartphone that is in a price range that suits your expected budget, as there are still quite a few Smartphones that do not cost the same as a full-fledged computer.

#3 - 4G, 3G or 2G?

The speed of the mobile network is indicated in 2G, 3G, 4G, and now also 5G, so it is the speed of the data that is being considered here.

If you want the highest possible internet speed on your Smartphone, then 5G is probably the thing for you, but if you do not use the internet or perhaps only to a limited extent, then 3G may be sufficient.

You will notice that Smartphones are referred to as a 4G or 5G phone, which means that if the mobile data provider can deliver the relevant speed, the Smartphone can handle it.

The speed of the mobile network affects how quickly a website can display on your Smartphone or how quickly you can download a movie, book, or music.

#4 - Which operating system?

The operating systems most known here in Denmark are:

  • Android
  • IOS
  • Windows

Which operating system is best for you probably partly depends on what you are used to from your current phone or computer.

All operating systems have their own set-up and structure, but basically, they do the same thing, and there can be a big difference in what different people perceive as user-friendly.

Android is used by many different mobile manufacturers, whereas IOS is only used by iPhones, and Windows is not as widespread as the other two, but still very user-friendly.

#5 - How big should your Smartphone be?

If you dream of a Smartphone with a large screen where you can watch movies and series without problems, then the screen size can end up being quite large, up to 6 inches.

If you want to carry your phone in your pocket and primarily use it for social media and communication, a screen size of 4.5 inches may be sufficient.

The screen size can also depend on whether you want buttons on the phone, which would mean a somewhat smaller screen.

Therefore, consider how large of a phone you want to carry around and whether you need a large screen, or if you can make do with a smaller one.

#6 - How much memory do you need?

If you use your Smartphone for storing pictures, music, and videos, you may need a phone with a good amount of built-in memory, as memory also matters for the number of apps and games.

Most people can manage with 32-64 GB of memory, but if you already know you will be downloading movies, have many apps and games, then you may need more than that.

An alternative to the built-in memory could be to check if it's possible to insert an SD card in the phone, which can expand the memory to your needs.

#7 - What connection options do you need?

You may be fine with connecting devices via Bluetooth or WiFi, but sometimes you may find it necessary to connect devices via a cable, such as:

Therefore, it is important to be aware of which port is used to connect external equipment; often it is a USB-C port in newer models or a Lightning port for iOS phones.

#8 - How fast should your Smartphone be?

The speed is determined by several factors such as memory and type of processor.

If your memory is nearly full, it can affect the phone's speed because there isn't enough space to run an app or a game.

The type of processor is also significant in this context; however, most newer Smartphones have either a Quadcore or an Octocore processor, depending on the number of cores in the processor, which in this case is 4 or 8 cores.

#9 - Battery life

If you use your phone a lot, a low battery life can mean that you need to charge the phone several times throughout the day, but most mobile phones have a battery life of about 1 day.

The battery life is how long you can expect there to be power to use your mobile phone.

The battery size is indicated in mAh, meaning milliAmpere per hour, and a phone with a large screen can be expected to have a battery of around 3500 mAh, whereas a smaller size often has a battery of around 3000 mAh.

You do not need to think much about the technology, as in most mobile phones, the battery life is indicated in hours.

#10 - Special features

You can also consider whether there are any special features that you would like your Smartphone to have, for example:

  • An outstanding camera
  • Water and dust resistant
  • Extra robust
  • 2 SIM cards
  • External memory
  • Cool design
  • Foldable phone
  • Access to a wide range of accessories

Whether you want extra features or not, it is helpful to be clear about what you desire from your Smartphone.
