Speaker cable is available in sizes from 2x0.5mm, typically used for rear speakers or bookshelf speakers, to a heavy-duty speaker cable at 2x4.0mm, which is suitable for large floor-standing speakers with deep bass or for passive subwoofers.
Definition of CCA and OFC speaker cable:
OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) Speaker cable with conductors made of 100% Oxygen-free pure copper. By using an OFC speaker cable where the conductors are made of pure copper, you achieve the best sound quality with more audio details and deeper bass than when using a CCA speaker cable.
CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium) Speaker cable with conductors made of aluminum coated with a copper alloy. Aluminum conducts electricity almost as well as copper, but can be significantly cheaper, as the raw material is much cheaper than copper.
With a CCA cable, we recommend choosing a thicker cable than when using an OFC copper cable.
