Stylus Pen - easily write on Tablet and Smartphone
Here on the page you will find our selection of stylus pens, which make it easy and quick to write on your iPad or iPhone.
It can sometimes be cumbersome to be precise when you use your fingers on an iPad, iPhone, or a smartphone, and some just have larger fingers than others, which does not make writing a message any easier.
A Stylus pen is more precise and you can quickly save time when you don’t have to sit and delete letters all the time that have been accidentally pressed.
If you wish to color, draw, or design on the touchscreen, it is almost impossible to avoid a Stylus pen, which is often shaped like a pencil.
There are countless models, colors, and designs of Stylus pens, and it can be challenging to find the one that is right for you, so we try below to give you some useful information that can help you find the right Stylus pen for your needs.
7 things you should know when looking for a new Stylus pen
When you look for a Stylus pen, you can quickly become overwhelmed by the many options you encounter.
Stylus pens come in a sea of models, colors, functions, and sizes, making it difficult to find the Stylus pen that best fits your hand and needs.
Below you will find some information that might help you when looking for a new Stylus pen.
#1 - The brand or Universal Stylus pen
Stylus pens are produced by many of the major manufacturers of phones, tablets, and similar devices, and these manufacturers customize their Stylus pen with various functions that are unique to their brand.
However, you do not have to buy a Stylus pen from the same brand as your phone or tablet to be able to use it or get special functions.
Many really good Stylus pens are made that work exceptionally well, regardless of which brand your tablet or phone is.
A universal Stylus pen can be easily used for both tablet and phone, even if these are different brands, and the major advantage is that the Stylus pen is often relatively inexpensive compared to the brands' own Stylus pens.
#2 - Types of Stylus pens
There are different types of stylus pens, and some are particularly well-suited for touch-sensitive screens and others for example drawing tablets.
Overall, there are two types of Stylus pens, namely an active and a passive Stylus pen, and the difference between these two is that the active Stylus pen can connect with the device it is used with, while the passive Stylus pen cannot.
The active Stylus pen has memory, electronic erase function, and pressure sensitivity, making it particularly suitable for design, drawing, and layout tasks, for example on computers or drawing tablets.
The passive Stylus pen has no connection to the device it is used with and contains no electronics or memory.
This means that the passive Stylus pen is often a bit smaller, but more independent in relation to which device it is used with.
Often the passive Stylus pen is significantly cheaper than the active one, but it also does not offer more functions than simply pressing on the screen.
The most commonly used is the passive Stylus pen, typically due to the simple function where you use the pen instead of your finger; the passive pen is also often referred to as a capacitive Stylus pen.
The active pen is especially used by professional designers, graphic artists, and others who need a high level of precision, but if you do not need the Stylus pen for anything other than writing, swiping, and scrolling on your tablet or phone, a passive pen is quite sufficient.
#3 - Use Stylus pen for many tasks
You can use a Stylus pen for many other tasks than just on your phone or tablet, and the pen can, among other things, help you avoid spreading bacteria to others.
Most people do not immediately think about how many surfaces they touch every day, and how many of these surfaces consist of a touch-sensitive screen.
There are quite a few places where you can encounter touch-sensitive screens that many others have touched before you, but with a Stylus pen in your pocket, you can easily avoid picking up others’ bacteria from these screens.
At the ATM, restaurant ordering screen, signature screen at the municipality, and many other places, you can easily pull your stylus pen out of your pocket and use it instead of your finger.
#4 - Stylus pen as a ballpoint pen
A Stylus pen often resembles a ballpoint pen or a pencil, and in many models, the stylus part is incorporated into a ballpoint pen.
This primarily applies to the passive Stylus pens, and here the Stylus part, which is often a small rubber tip, can be placed either on top of the ballpoint pen, in the same way as an eraser on a pencil, or where the tip of the ballpoint pen comes out.
This way, the Stylus pen gains an extra function, and it is easy for you to both write on paper and on your phone or tablet.
#5 - Stylus pen with multiple functions
Active Stylus pens often allow for more functions, as they contain varying electronics that, depending on the model, can provide you with some programmable functions, with buttons on the side.
This is really practical if you use your active Stylus pen as a mouse on your computer, or have many of the same drawing or design tasks where you often use the same functions.
Here you can program some buttons on the side of the Stylus pen to have different functions, such as corresponding to right and left mouse click, activating a specific function in a drawing program, or serving as a shortcut to a specific folder.
The active Stylus pens can be found in very advanced versions with numerous features and in simpler versions with fewer functions.
#6 - Shape of the Stylus pen
A Stylus pen often has a shape similar to a ballpoint pen, whether it is active or passive, but there are also different sizes, thicknesses, variations in grip design, and much more.
Just as diverse as the design of a ballpoint pen can be, so can it be for a Stylus pen.
So if you have a ballpoint pen that you really enjoy writing with because the grip is comfortable to hold, or something else that makes that ballpoint pen fantastic for your hand, look for the same features in your new Stylus pen.
It may be that you prefer soft grip or need it to be completely smooth; perhaps you want a triangular grip on the pen, or should it perhaps be thin or thick?
The possibilities are countless, and there are really good chances of finding a Stylus Pen that feels as good in your hand as your favorite ballpoint pen.
#7 - Colors, durability, and materials
When you look for a new Stylus pen, you will quickly find that they come in almost all price ranges, qualities, and colors.
Fortunately, a Stylus pen rarely costs so much that the whole budget goes up in smoke if you choose a wrong or poor quality.
You can, however, still consider the durability and quality of the pens, just as you consider the color.
A Stylus pen of good quality often lasts longer than a pen that costs 10 kr., and durability primarily concerns the small black tip called the Stylus.
It is indeed the small stylus that often can vary in durability, and you can often feel if it is quality or not based on the markings on the black rubber tip.
A good quality stylus is often a little bit more robust in construction than a cheaper model, which merely has a very soft and thin stylus.
You should therefore consider whether you want to spend a little more to get good quality and a somewhat longer durability, or if you are fine with occasionally replacing the Stylus pen.
