Travel adapter for all plugs – Huge selection
"To travel is to live". We all know H. C. Andersen's famous words. If H. C. Andersen had lived today, he would probably have written: "To travel is to live, but not without a travel adapter."
Without a travel adapter, he would at least have had limited writing time on his laptop, had those famous words been written in 2019.
In his time, texts were written with pen and ink, SMS messages and emails were sent as handwritten postcards or letters – and there were no electric shavers or other conveniences that required power.
If H.C. Andersen had lived – and traveled – today, he would not have gone without a travel adapter.
Today, we are completely dependent on the ability to access power. Whether we are at home, at work – or out traveling – we need power. Power gives us light, provides heating for our homes, gives access to TV, radio, computer, the portable Bluetooth speaker - and charges our tablets and phones.
There is hardly a home in today's Denmark that doesn't count many devices and units that require power daily – or almost daily. This also applies when we travel.
A travel adapter is a necessity
If you travel to very primitive areas of the world, you can probably manage for a few days without power, but then it will likely start to get tough. The phone and tablet begin to run dry, it is challenging to boil water for coffee, and you might need a shave.
When you then get the opportunity to access power, problems can arise. The plugs and cords you bring may not fit the power sockets found in the respective country.
Here it is not only an advantage but a necessity to have an adapter that can be used as a converter for your Danish plugs.
There is indeed no international standard when it comes to power cables or plugs, as one knows it from for example USB cables. Therefore, a travel adapter is an indispensable requirement when you need power for your devices.
A power adapter is basically a simple thing to use. At one end, it has a plug that fits the socket in the respective country – at the other end is a plug that fits your Danish plugs. The power is conducted through the adapter, so you can draw power to your appliances and devices.
It is simple to use, but today it is not a luxury - it has become a necessity for modern people who want to experience the world or just have a good vacation without going without the things we have become accustomed to using in everyday life.
Unless you are a primitive traveling globetrotter – who does not have the option of getting near power – a travel adapter is a necessity – and should therefore be a regular part of your suitcase's contents.
It takes up almost no space and the weight is practically negligible. H. C. Andersen surely would not have been able to do without this small, practical, and necessary device if he had traveled around in today's world.
Travel adapters are available in many different models
We carry many different models from several manufacturers, so you can easily find the travel adapter that suits your travel needs. Maybe you often travel to a specific country and only need an adapter that fits that country.
Maybe you travel to many different destinations, where you should ideally invest in a model that can be used in several different countries. These models are called a universal travel adapter.
We carry both types in different versions, so you can easily find the right travel adapter in our overview, where it is described which regions they fit.
If you bring several things that require power or need to be charged, you can benefit from supplementing with a power strip with multiple outlets. When you travel, you likely do not have power available all the time, so it may be important to utilize the time when power can be used and devices can be charged.
In our range of travel adapters, you will also find models with a USB output. These are particularly practical for charging phones, tablets, and other rechargeable devices that use USB for this.
If you are traveling with several people, you probably have more devices that need charging. Here, a travel adapter can be supplemented with a USB charger with multiple outputs, so everyone can charge their devices simultaneously. USB chargers with multiple outputs are available in several models in our product overview.
Universal travel adapter
The difference between power plugs can be significant in different countries. Both in design and the number of pins. This can mean a large number of travel adapters if you travel to many different countries with various designs of the sockets.
If you travel to many different destinations, a universal travel adapter may be a good choice, so you can simply bring one type of travel adapter.
A universal travel adapter has adjustable sliders, meaning you can set the plug type yourself to fit the plug of the individual destination.
The socket on the travel adapter has a universal input, so you can easily connect your power plugs to it.
Travel adapter USA and travel adapter Canada
One of the types of travel adapters that most people encounter is the travel adapter for the USA when the trip goes across the Atlantic. A USA travel adapter enables you to connect Danish electronics to American sockets.
A USA travel adapter is available both with and without ground. When traveling to the USA, remember to check if your mobile phone charger has a variable voltage. In the USA, they use 110V voltage, while we in Denmark and most of Europe use 230V.
If your charger does not have a variable voltage, you should consider buying one that does. Alternatively, you can consider a power converter, if you do not want to buy a charger in the USA.
A travel adapter for the USA can also be used in countries like Mexico and Canada.
Travel adapter England
If you have traveled to England without thinking that the sockets in the EU are not the same, you have undoubtedly stood and looked helplessly at the socket in the wall when you wanted to charge your mobile phone.
The English sockets have three-pin plugs and are indeed quite different from the Danish ones. Therefore, it is a really good idea to remember a travel adapter for England when packing your suitcase.
A travel adapter for England can also be used in countries like Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Gibraltar, Dubai, and Singapore.
Travel adapter Italy
The Italian sockets are somewhat similar to the Danish ones - and not at all. The Italian plugs are quite unique in their design and have a plug type with three pins.
An Italian travel adapter has the three-pin plug that fits the Italian sockets and poles, so you can connect your Danish plug and charge your mobile phone, laptop, or other devices that require power.
Travel adapter Australia
The Australian plugs resemble a V created by two thin plates. This therefore significantly differs from a long series of other plug variants that one encounters in the Western world.
This plug variant is used by about 1.5 billion people. You can get a travel adapter for Australia both with and without ground.
The Australian travel adapter can also be used in other countries. A travel adapter for Australia can also be used in countries like New Zealand, Fiji, Argentina, and China.
Travel adapter India and travel adapter South Africa
The South African and Indian plugs most resemble a cross between the English and North American ones. But with a large pin and two small ones, it still differs significantly. The large pin is intended for ground.
You also cannot connect a Danish two-pin plug to a South African socket, even if you try to fit it into the two sockets intended for the two small pins.
If you travel to South Africa or India – and want power for your mobile phone and other devices, you will need a travel adapter for South Africa or India.
This plug design is indeed used by almost two billion people
Travel adapter Switzerland
If you are part of the group of Danes who either live in Switzerland or travel there often, a travel adapter for Switzerland is a really good thing to invest in.
The Swiss plugs have a three-pin plug, consisting of three staggered pins. You will therefore need a Swiss travel adapter to connect your Danish plugs to a Swiss socket.
Travel adapter Israel
A travel adapter for Israel is a must if you want power for your electronic devices when visiting Israel.
The Israeli plugs have a unique design with a plug type with three flat pins. A travel adapter for Israel is therefore a requirement if you want to charge your mobile phone with a local socket in Israel.
Travel adapters for use in Denmark
If you have family or friends living abroad, you can be a good host when they come to visit in Denmark. Make sure beforehand to buy an adapter that converts power from Danish sockets to an output that fits the electrical appliances and devices they bring with them on their trip.
If the guests are from, for example, the USA, you should be aware that their devices connect to 110V and not the Danish 220V. In this case, consider purchasing a power converter that converts our 220V to 110V. Power converters can be found in our product overview.
Although we in the EU – and the rest of the world – have agreed on many international agreements, we have not agreed that we should have the same power supply – and nothing indicates that this will happen in the near future. A travel adapter is therefore a necessity when you travel to countries that have different power plugs than those we know from Denmark and many European countries. Therefore, find the travel adapter that fits your destination – or possibly buy a universal adapter that fits power plugs in several different countries – so you are always assured of power for your appliances and devices.
Skross travel adapter
We always strive to find products from the best manufacturers so that you get the best goods when you shop with us. This is one of the reasons why we have selected a long range of travel adapters from Skross.
Skross provides both well-designed travel adapters that are also known for delivering quality.
So you will find both universal travel adapters and travel adapters for example for the USA and other countries from Skross.
Power converter
It is also possible for you to connect, for example, American devices to the Danish electrical grid - even if the American devices are designed to use 110V, while the Danish ones use 230V.
This is made possible through a power converter that converts the voltage from 230V to 110V - or 24V to 12V, so that through the power converter you can connect your foreign devices at home.
This basically means that you can buy electronics to bring home from your vacation. You just need a power converter when they need to be connected at home.
