- You start by locating your USB key on your computer under This PC, right-click on the USB key and select Turn on Bitlocker.
- You check the box for Use a password to unlock the drive, enter your password in both fields, and click Next.
- You can then choose to save your password to avoid the risk of forgetting it. It is advisable to select either Save in a file or Print recovery key. However, be careful not to save it on the USB drive itself. Afterward, click Next.
- Select Encrypt entire drive and then click Next.
- Since your USB key is a portable drive, choose Compatibility mode and then Next.
- Select Start encryption and your USB key will now be encrypted.
