Crispy fries straight from the fryer
A fryer can be used to fry various foods, such as fries, hot wings, and onion rings.
With a fryer, you get the crispiest fries that no other kitchen tools, can come close to delivering.
At avXperten, we have a large selection of kitchen tools, that can help with cooking. For example, we have Airfryer, mini ovens, food processors and steamers.
How to choose a fryer - 5 things to consider
When you are looking to invest in a fryer, there are a few things you should consider to find the fryer that will suit you best.
There are different fryers that can do more or less the same things. However, there are few aspects that can determine which fryer will be the best fit for you.
Therefore, below are 5 points that can help you make the decision about the right fryer.
#1 - Fryer Size and Capacity
When choosing a fryer, it is important to select one that is large enough for your needs.
Should it just be able to fry fries, or should it also be capable of being used for larger experiments such as, a half grilled chicken.
Fryers come in many different sizes and capacities. They are measured in liters, which indicates how much the fryer can hold.
If you are a family of 4 people, we would not recommend going lower than 3 liters. Otherwise, it can take a long time to fry a whole bag of fries with a 2-liter fryer.
At avXperten, we have everything from 1.75L to 5L, so there is definitely a fryer that will meet your needs.
#2 - Fryer Design
Most fryers look similar in both design and features. However, there are few things that can still distinguish a good fryer from a bad one, in terms of design.
It's worth considering the design, as it's important that you can carry the fryer comfortably without risking getting oil on you.
Therefore, it is important to choose a fryer that is stable and where the handles are solid enough to comfortably grab them.
Furthermore, it is also important that the outer walls of the fryer are made of a material that does not get too hot when in use. This also helps to cool the oil down faster.
If you choose one of the larger fryers like the 5-liter fryer, you often also get a larger basket or two normal baskets with it.
This can be useful if you want to fry two different things, where one does not need to be cooked as long as the other.
Or if you want to fry something larger, where the small basket would not be able to accommodate it. Some fryers also have a built-in thermometer so you can keep an eye on the temperature.
You should always allow the oil to cool down after use before moving the fryer. Even if it has cooled down, it is never pleasant to get oil on you.
#3 - Fryer vs Airfryer
More and more households have gradually acquired an air fryer and slowly the fryer will probably be replaced by the air fryer.
However, the air fryer cannot deliver the same result as the fryer when it comes to crispiness.
Even though the air fryer can actually reach a slightly higher temperature level than the fryer, it still cannot achieve the same result as the fryer can.
This is partly because the oil in a fryer is much better at penetrating the food and embracing it with heat than the air fryer can.
Therefore, an air fryer may have difficulty heating something up, especially if it is stacked on top of each other.
This also requires that you occasionally ensure to shake the basket in the air fryer to make sure that everything in the basket can get some of the heat from the air fryer.
If you do not want to compromise on half crispy fries and spend too much time on cooking, a fryer is still a very good investment.
Exciting dishes you can try:
- British fish and chips
- Scotch eggs
- Homemade donuts & churros
- Chips from potatoes or root vegetables
- Delicious spring rolls
#4 - Cleaning
Most people dread the fryer, as it can be a larger cleaning task after using the fryer. However, it does not have to be that way every time.
The oil can easily be reused if you make sure to filter out the food residues; then the oil is almost as good as new. This can easily be done using a sieve.
You do not have to clean a fryer after every use, as long as you wipe the surfaces and change the oil occasionally, it can last a long time.
We have a lot of products in kitchen cleaning, which can quickly help make your kitchen tools clean, such as our products in grease remover.
#5 - The right lid to avoid oil splatter
When frying something with oil, it is easy for the oil to splatter on you if you are not careful. Whether you fry in a pot or a fryer.
However, you are better off with a fryer, as it comes with a lid that you can easily put on top of the fryer to avoid splattering.
You can also get a lid for the fryer that has a small glass window, so you can keep an eye on the food without having to lift the lid to check it each time.
These lids also have a kind of ventilation filter that directs the smoke away from you, so you do not get it directly on you during frying.
