Cash Counter - Easy and efficient counting of notes and coins
Here on the page you will find our selection of cash counters that can easily and efficiently count coins or notes.
If you work with a lot of cash in the form of both notes and coins, you can save time with an electronic cash counter.
Cash counters are effective and reliable, and can check both coins and notes for authenticity, and cash counters for counting notes can in some cases verify the notes using UV light.
There are several models of cash counters, and the different models may have different features.
If you are unsure which cash counter to choose, read below where we have gathered some information that can help you find the right cash counter for your needs.
5 things you should know about cash counters
Cash counters come in many different models and for both coins and notes, but it can be a challenge to find the model that best suits your needs.
Below we have gathered some points you can keep in mind when choosing a cash counter.
#1 - Cash Counter for coins or notes
If you need to count a lot of cash regularly, there can be a lot of time to save by acquiring a cash counter that can easily and effectively count either coins or notes for you.
Whether you need a model that can count notes or one that can count coins depends entirely on which form of cash takes you the longest to count, or what preference you have for your cash counter.
Both cash counters for notes and for coins come in several models, and they are generally quite precise and accurate.
The majority of cash counter models, for both notes and coins, have a clear LCD display that tells you what the counted amount is and how many there have been of each value.
#2 - Cash Counter for notes with verification
Cash counters for notes come in models that have a built-in option to check the notes for authenticity.
Since there are counterfeit bills in circulation, this function can be of great benefit, allowing you to catch the counterfeit bills.
The notes in these models are typically scanned with a UV reader, allowing you to see if the notes are genuine, in addition, most cash counters for notes also measure the size of the notes.
The machine stops counting and alerts you if a note appears suspicious, so you can quickly remove it.
This verification feature is important for detecting counterfeit notes, which unfortunately you don't get anything for at the bank.
Most cash counters for notes can be used for all currencies, so you are not limited to only Danish notes, but can also count for example Euro.
Some models can also stack the notes for you, allowing you to set how many notes you want in each stack, after which the machine counts the desired amount, and then flips the next notes upright and counts again the desired number.
#3 - Cash Counter for coin currency
Cash counters for coins are often designed for a specific currency because there are differences in the weights and sizes of different currencies.
Coins in Denmark for example have a different weight, size, and characteristics compared to Euro.
The advantage of cash counters for coins is that you typically only need to pour all the coins into a funnel, without having to sort them first, after which the machine sorts and counts the coins itself.
On the large LCD display, you can often see more than just the total amount counted, as many models can also show how many coins there have been of the different values.
Additionally, the different models may have features such as the ability to set the machine to stop each time a certain amount is counted, making it easy to keep track of how many coins you deposit at the bank.
The machine also typically stops automatically when the coin trays are full, thus preventing coins from spilling over the trays and onto the table.
On many models, you also have the option to pour a mixed stack of coins into the machine and ask it to stop when the coin trays precisely contain for example 100 pieces of 50 øre.
If you connect the machine to a printer, you can receive a printed receipt of the counting of the coins.
#4 - Cash Counter capacity
When you are looking for a cash counter, it's beneficial to look for how large the capacity of the machine is.
The capacity tells you how many coins or notes the machine can hold in the hopper at one time.
There is a significant difference in how many notes or coins cash counters can handle for counting, and this often also determines whether it is a large or small machine.
To find out how large a capacity you need the machine to have, you can keep an eye on how many coins or notes you sort and count each day.
Many smaller businesses can manage with a cash counter for coins that has a capacity of about 500 coins and for notes about 300 notes.
This also corresponds to some of the smaller machines, but since the use of cash is declining, it is rarely necessary to have a machine that has a much larger capacity.
It can also be quite annoying to have to keep refilling as space becomes available in the hopper, if you have many more notes or coins than the number that has capacity.
Therefore, it is important that you choose a cash counter with a capacity that suits your specific needs.
#5 - Cash Counter speed
If you are looking for a cash counter to save time, it is of course important how quickly the machine can count coins and notes.
The speed is typically given in how many notes or coins can be counted per minute, and typically a cash counter for notes counts at about 1000-1200 notes per minute and a coin counter at about 200-300 coins per minute.
The faster a machine you want, the higher price you will typically have to pay, but the above is actually quite fast counting, especially considering that many models also sort coins or notes for you.
