What is a Cat 6a network cable?
Cat 6a supports a bandwidth of 500 MHz and speeds of 10 Gbps up to 100 meters. Cat6a is the further development of Cat 6 cables. They are made with a thicker plastic sheath to keep out noise, and it has double the capacity of Cat 6.
Cat 6a can be run over long distances without compromising data speed. It is extremely suitable for demanding internet installations where you need to transfer 4K Ultra HD video or run demanding computer games.

Should I choose a Cat 6a cable or another category?
Cat stands for category, which in Danish means category. The category specifies speeds, bandwidth, and how far the cable can carry the signal.
Network cables have become so good that even with a Cat 7 cable, there are not many internet connections that can deliver such high speeds. Cat 8 is primarily designed for data centers and professionals.
We often recommend Cat6 and Cat 6a network cables
These two categories cover most people's needs. We generally recommend a Cat 6 cable for private consumers since it is better and more future-proof than a Cat 5e, and there isn’t a significant price difference.
Are you a business owner with more specific requirements for interference and bandwidth? We recommend Cat6a or Cat 7.
Cat 6a vs cat 7
A Cat 6a is a bit more difficult to work with than a Cat 6 cable due to the thicker plastic sheath. However, Cat 6a is more suitable for demanding network installations, but why not just choose a Cat 7?
It’s because Cat 7 has such a large bandwidth that very few internet connections can deliver such high speeds. Therefore, we often recommend a Cat6a over a Cat 7 cable.
However, there can be many other factors to consider when finding a network cable that fits your needs.
