Heat the rooms with an oil radiator
When the cold evenings set in, it can be nice to have an oil radiator to warm the room.
An oil radiator is quite mobile as it just needs to be plugged into a socket to be able to heat a room. Therefore, it is also easy to take along, for example, to the summer house and the like.
At avXperten, we also have a wide selection of other products in heating and cooling. For example, see dehumidifiers, Electric Radiators or a mini-fridge.
5 things you should consider before buying an oil radiator
If you are looking for an extra heat source for the home, an oil radiator can be a good choice.
Below are a few points on how you can advantageously use an oil radiator.
#1 The size of your oil radiator
Before purchasing an oil radiator, it is important to choose the size that best fits your needs.
If it’s one you plan to move around a lot, such as from room to room, a smaller one might be much more practical than the larger models.
At avXperten, you can get oil radiators measuring 40.5 x 62 cm, which come with wheels at the bottom, making it easy to move around.
The size of the oil radiator is not decisive for how effective it is. How effective it is depends on how many watts it uses.
With an efficiency of 1500 watts, it can heat a room of about 12 m². If you have a room of 20 m², you will need to go up to about 2200 watts.
The more fins there are on the oil radiator, the faster it can heat the room. Our oil radiators have between 7 - 11 fins.
#2 Where should your oil radiator be used?
Due to its compact size, it will also be perfect to take along, for example, to the summer house, camping, etc.
- The oil radiator is especially perfect to have in the summer house as it can quickly warm up and requires nothing more than electricity from the socket.
- It is also perfect to take with you in campers, as long as it can be plugged into a socket. Since campers are not divided into so many rooms, an oil radiator can easily heat the camper.
- If you are holding parties or the like in the garage and the cold sets in, having the oil radiator will also be effective in warming the garage and the guests.
- Even on the boat, you can add a bit of extra heat using the oil radiator. When night falls and you are out in the sea, it can get extremely cold. Therefore, the oil radiator is a good solution as a heat source on the boat.
#3 Opportunity to save money with the oil radiator
We have all heard how much the radiators in the home can affect the heating bill, etc. Therefore, many are extra cautious about turning them on when the cold months come.
It is recommended that if you turn on one radiator, all other radiators should also be turned on and set to the same number or temperature.
You can save quite a bit on the heating bill if you replace all radiators in the home with oil radiators, as they do not run constantly.
The oil in the oil radiator is heated to a certain temperature, after which it turns off the power consumption, so it does not use unnecessary electricity.
Despite the fact that there is oil in the oil radiator, you do not need to refill it, even though many believe this. Therefore, there are no extra costs other than the electricity for it.
#4 Oil radiator against moisture
There are several reasons to keep the radiators on in the cold rooms of the home. One is to heat the room, but another is also to prevent moisture damage and the like.
If there are some rooms that require more heat than others, such as the basement, it can be a good idea to have an oil radiator placed permanently down there to avoid moisture damage.
All the oil radiator needs is a socket, then it can easily heat the room without the need for other resources. Therefore, it is more practical to have in the basement than other heat sources.
#5 The oil radiator with wheels & handle
Most of our oil radiators come with wheels and handles, making it easy to move them around.
In addition, you can also safely wrap the cord around the cable management system that is on most of our oil radiators, so the cord doesn’t lie on the floor.
They are also built with a safety mechanism that ensures the oil radiator turns off if it is knocked over.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an oil radiator?
The oil radiator is a heat source that contains oil. The oil in the oil radiator is what is used to create the heat. Through an electric element in the oil radiator, the heat from the oil is conducted out into the fins of the oil radiator, which becomes the warmth we can feel from it.
How much does it cost to operate an oil radiator?
The oil radiator only uses electricity, so the consumption is calculated on the electric bill.
What it costs to operate an oil radiator depends on your electricity agreement and how much electricity your oil radiator uses.
Is an oil radiator dangerous?
Even though an oil radiator sounds a bit scary, it is not dangerous to use or have around. The oil is well protected in the oil radiator, and it is difficult to puncture it, as it is made of steel.
Does an oil radiator use oil?
An oil radiator is filled with oil but does not use it as a resource to create the heat itself. The oil in the oil radiator is there to create the heat that warms the room. Therefore, you do not need to refill oil in an oil radiator as many believe. The oil radiator only uses electricity to emit heat.
