The Story of VTech

VTech was founded in 1976 in Hong Kong under the name "Video Technology Limited" and in 1991 the company was renamed VTech.

Initially, VTech produced video games and in 1977 the company produced its first TV game console, and since primarily consumers in Europe and North America could afford the machine, these were the primary markets.

In the early 1980s, VTech began to produce a whole series of video games aimed at learning.

After that, development took off and the company developed a range of electronic products, which included:

• PCs
• IBM and Apple compatible computers
• Telephones
• Wireless headsets
• and much more

Today, VTech's main products are telephones for both individuals and businesses, learning software, and toys, as well as contract manufacturing of electronic products for companies.

In Denmark, VTech is particularly known for their console games and toys, which are designed for very young children from 2 years up to their teenage years.

You might remember the small pink or yellow/purple console with Disney games that many children had a few years ago, or maybe the talking bear that many wished for as a christening gift for their child.

In addition, large sums are invested in developing schools in disadvantaged areas around the world, and the company collaborates with several charitable organizations to improve learning opportunities for young people by creating inspiring environments and a healthy spirit of innovation.
