Portable air conditioner for all needs

Although we in Denmark are not exactly known for having notoriously good weather, it is happening more and more often that we have long and warm days in Denmark.

On these days, it can be difficult to keep a cool head, as there is not exactly air conditioning in all Danish homes.

Fortunately, you don’t need to install air conditioning throughout the house if you want to get through those hot summer days more easily.

You can simply buy a mobile air conditioning unit that can easily cool even large rooms.

Benefits of a mobile air conditioning unit

A mobile air conditioning unit has plenty of advantages, one of the biggest being the mobility and flexibility you gain.

It can be quite expensive to install air conditioning throughout the house, and it can be extremely frustrating to stay in a room where you just decided to save on that.

Therefore, it is much easier to use a mobile air conditioning unit that requires very little setup compared to a fixed air conditioning unit.

With a mobile air conditioner, you can move the pleasant cool air around your home.

For example, you can have it standing in your bedroom at night, the kitchen during the day, and the living room in the evening.

In short, you can move the pleasant temperatures around with you so you don’t have to spend large sums to have air conditioning installed throughout the house.

Watch our short video below, where we explain a bit about the differences between various cooling solutions:

Best air conditioning for you? Look for these 5 things!

Choosing a mobile air conditioning unit is not always straightforward.

There are many features and conditions in your home you should be aware of to select the right unit for your needs.

Read more below, where we have gathered the 5 most important things you should consider before choosing air conditioning.

#1 - Size of the rooms in your home

The first, and often also the most important, is to be absolutely sure about the sizes of the rooms in your home.

This is important because various air conditioning units are designed for a specific maximum capacity in relation to cubic meters/square meters of the rooms in your home.

You should always choose an air conditioner that can handle the size of the room you have in your home, as it can otherwise take an incredibly long time to cool the room down.

The capacity is often indicated in either “m2” or “m3”, but to keep it relatively simple, most manufacturers prefer to use m2, as it is easier for you as a consumer to relate to.

If the largest room in your home, for example, is 20 m2, you should choose an air conditioner that has 20 m2 or more in its maximum capacity.

#2 - Cooling capacity of your air conditioner

The ability to cool is measured in something called “BTU” which stands for “British Thermal Unit”.

In air conditioning units, you will almost always find a BTU number, which is an indicator of how effectively the unit cools, or heats in some cases.

A high number of BTUs does not necessarily mean that the unit can cool more than others with a lower BTU, it simply means that it does it faster.

Some people even find it can be a bit too overwhelming with a too high number of BTUs, as an air conditioning unit with, for example, 18-20,000 BTUs cools extremely quickly.

However, it is also problematic to have a too low number of BTUs, as it may mean that your air conditioning cannot cool quickly enough compared to how hot it is in the home.

As long as you don’t go below 7000 BTUs in your portable air conditioning unit, you shouldn’t experience problems with cooling in the Danish summer weather.

#3 - Features in your air conditioning

Modern portable air conditions and portable/mobile air conditioning units have a range of smart features that you can advantageously make use of.

One thing that is particularly smart is the modern Smart home integration.

This allows you to have portable air conditioning with Wi-Fi, which means you can control it even when you are not at home.

This way, you can always have a cool home ready for you when you come home from work or school.

There are also other smart features you can consider, such as:

  • Timer function for automatic stop, e.g., at night
  • Speed settings
  • Air humidification or dehumidification
  • Heating & Cooling combination
  • Easy cleaning with removable filters and other parts

#4 - Quiet air conditioning

Like many other electronic devices, an air conditioning unit emits a certain amount of noise.

This is mainly because the units contain a fan that produces noise when it cools the air in your home.

You can advantageously check the specific products for their noise level by looking for “dB” which stands for decibel.

The lower the decibel, the less noise you can expect from your portable air conditioner, so choose as low a number of dBs as possible when looking for portable air conditioning.

#5 - Air conditioning window kit - important for mobile air conditioning

If you are one of the many who prefer a portable air conditioning unit, you should always check if a window kit is included.

If not, you will need to purchase it separately to get the best experience.

With a smart window kit for your mobile air conditioner, you get the opportunity to make it more efficient to get rid of the heat in the home.

Unlike just throwing the hose from your air conditioning out of the window, you can use this kit to seal around the hose, so that warm air does not get in from outside.

This provides increased cooling ability, and also looks a bit better than just having the hose hanging out of the window.

Smart Home Air Conditioning

The only thing better than air conditioning is Smart Home Air Conditioning.

With a Smart Home air conditioning unit, you gain full control over the temperature in your home.

You don’t have to wait to turn on the air conditioning until you get home.

Instead, you can turn it on in good time before you arrive home, so you can come home to a pleasant and cool environment.

This is made possible with Wi-Fi integration, which allows you to communicate with your unit from afar.

It is also possible to create fixed schedules and routines for when the unit should cool and not cool.

It has never been easier to come home to a lovely cool place where the heat is not a bother.

Portable Air Conditioning for Holiday Homes

Summer houses are something so cozy and Danish. The more primitive lifestyle can create something very special when it comes to creating a stress-free and relaxing atmosphere.

However, it also has its downsides to do without the technological advantages of home, for example, that there is no air conditioning.

Fortunately, there is a solution for that. With a portable air conditioner, you can easily and smoothly transport the pleasant temperature with you.

All you have to do is bring the unit with you in the car. Then you set it up when you arrive, and immediately after, you have a nice and cooled holiday home.

If you also have a Smart Home cooling unit, you can conveniently turn on the unit when the family is at the beach or on a trip.

Even though the beach and other activities can be hot in the summer, everything becomes good again when you return to a cooled summer house.

Air Conditioning in the Office

Although most Danish workers spend a good part of the summer away from the office, there will inevitably still be a large period of the summer when you are required to do your job.

However, that can indeed be a relatively big challenge if the weather is very hot.

Heat can significantly affect productivity, especially in older or smaller offices, where it can be difficult to ventilate properly and in general to get rid of the heat.

Fortunately, this problem can be alleviated by setting up a mobile air conditioning unit in the office.

Provided it is not a very large and open office landscape, a unit can easily cool an office.

The unit will also have a dehumidifying effect on many liters every single day, providing a more pleasant indoor climate in the office.

We are fully convinced that your employees will be very pleased with the opportunity to work in pleasant and cool surroundings that provide optimal conditions for focused work and productivity.

Mobile air conditioning for caravans

The third and final good example of locations away from home where you need a mobile air conditioning unit is at the campground, specifically inside the caravan.

On a hot summer holiday at a campground, it can be difficult to find places where you can cool down properly.

However, you can turn your caravan into a true refuge, where you have the opportunity to get much-needed cooling by bringing a mobile air conditioning unit.

There is nothing better than taking a long sunbath, after which you can go into cool surroundings and enjoy a lunch.

Similarly, it is an important factor in getting a proper sleep.

It can be difficult to sleep in a warm caravan, while a cool one can be incredibly comfortable to get your beauty sleep in.

Is there a difference between air conditioning and climate systems?

A question that many ask is whether portable air conditioning and climate systems are the same.

This question has become a bit more difficult to answer in these modern times, as many manufacturers market their air conditioning systems as climate systems and vice versa.

What used to make climate systems and air conditioning different was actually quite simple.

A climate system is often built into the building and can achieve a very specific temperature by entering the desired number of degrees.

Air conditioning, on the other hand, cools without being able to set a specific number of degrees.

This answer has, however, changed a bit, as many air conditioning units today can indeed also be set to a specific number of degrees.

However, climate systems are often best at keeping specific rooms at a very specific number of degrees whereas air conditioning can fluctuate a bit around the entered number of degrees.

Air conditioning is often better if you want lightning-fast cooling of the room, while climate systems can take longer to reach the specified number of degrees, but maintains it for a long time and often with lower electricity costs.

Cool all corners of the home with a mobile climate system

Would you like the ability to cool all corners of your home without having to install a stationary cooling unit? Then there are no better alternatives than a portable air conditioning unit.

For example, if you are hosting a party in a conservatory or garage, where you wouldn't normally need cool temperatures, and therefore do not have air conditioning installed, it can quickly become a warm and unpleasant affair.

However, you can turn it into a very pleasant experience if you just place a cooling unit in the room.

Shortly afterward, the room will be cooled and comfortable to stay in, even if the sun is shining hard outside.
