Antenna Tools for Working with Antenna Installations

Here on the page, you will find our selection of antenna tools that you can use when working with antenna installations and antenna cables.

Antenna tools are specialized tools that can make working with antenna installations significantly easier, allowing you to achieve greater efficiency in your work.

Here on the page, you will find tools for installation pliers, stripping pliers, and other pliers that make it easy to mount your own connectors on antenna cables.

If you are unsure about which antenna tools you might need, you can read below, where we have gathered a bit more information about the different pieces of specialized tools.

4 Types of Antenna Tools You Should Know About

There are many different specialized tools available when working with installations, whether it is network installations, electrical installations, or antenna installations.

The specialized tools are designed to make the work with cables, connectors, and the installation itself easier and faster, which is nice when you would like to do it yourself, for example.

Many antenna tools can also be used for other purposes but are specifically developed for working with antenna cables and connectors.

There are specifically 4 types of antenna tools that you should consider, and we have gathered a bit more information about these below.

#1 - Antenna Tools for Stripping

When you need to work with Antenna Cable and self-mount connectors, for example, you may require an efficient stripping tool that makes it quick and easy to strip the antenna cable.

This specialized tool for antenna cables means you don't have to sit and carefully strip the antenna cable with a wire cutter or a hobby knife.

With this antenna tool, you simply place the cable in a hole, as far as the piece you wish to strip, and then you hold a button down and rotate the tool around the cable.

As you rotate, some blades ensure that the correct depth for stripping is cut, and afterward, the cable is ready for use with either an antenna connector or an F-connector.

With the stripping tool, you can strip all types of coaxial cables and thus also use the tool for a network cable or other cables.

If you are to mount an older model of antenna connector, these types of stripping tools are often preferred, as you often need to strip a bit more of the cable than you can do with, for example, a stripping tool for F-connectors.

#2 - Antenna Tools for F-Connector

Antenna tools for F-connectors functionally resemble antenna tools for stripping.

The main difference is that this specialized tool only strips a piece that corresponds to what is necessary to mount an F-connector, thus not too much and not too little.

The advantage of this is that you don't have to assess how much of the cable needs to be stripped, so you risk not having to strip several times.

If you strip with pliers or a hobby knife, you can easily end up stripping too long a piece of the cable, which can mean either that you cannot get the F-connector to fit snugly or encounter issues connecting the connector because too much copper wire is sticking out.

This tool for F-connectors is often available as a set, where a number of F-connector plugs are included in the package, and when the cable is stripped, it is simply to attach the connector to the cable and then mount the cable in the antenna connector, where you can often use the tool to screw the cable tightly into the antenna connector.

#3 - Antenna Tools for Crimp

Antenna tools for crimp connectors are a piece of equipment with multiple functions and are often referred to as a crimping tool.

This type of tool can be used for many different purposes, including stripping and mounting connectors in types: F-connector, IEC, BNC, and RCA.

It is a very versatile tool and is not only used as an antenna tool, but also for network connectors and many other tasks that require a connector to be crimped onto a cable.

You will also often find this antenna tool as a compression tool, as that is the function it is built for, to compress something together.

The tool often has both the ability to hold the connector in place with a lock and to strip the cable, as well as to press the connector together around the cable.

Therefore, for many people, this tool is a must-have in the toolbox, as you can also simply use the tool to strip a wide range of cable types.

#4 - Antenna Tools for Mounting

It can often be a bit tough on both hands and fingers to mount connectors on cables, and if you need to mount a long line of F-connector plugs, you can gain great benefit from an antenna tool designed for mounting these F-connector plugs.

The special aspect of F-connector plugs is that they often have to be twisted onto the cable, and this can be quite tricky to turn, while ensuring that the cable does not rotate with the connector.

With antenna tools for mounting F-connector plugs, it becomes a bit quicker and less strenuous on the fingers to twist the plugs onto the cable.

If you only need to mount a single connector on an antenna cable, it may not be worth investing in this specialized tool.

However, if you have multiple cables and you want the F-connector plugs to fit snugly onto the cable, it may be recommended that you consider a mounting tool to make the job a bit easier.
