Digital living room antenna, see the huge selection here

A digital living room antenna is the solution for you if you don't have the opportunity – or desire – to receive TV signals via a cable from an antenna socket connected to a TV provider.

It is also the perfect solution if you cannot or do not want to install an outdoor antenna to receive TV signals. A digital living room antenna is for indoor use only and cannot be used outdoors. If you want an outdoor antenna, you will find several different models in our overview.

An indoor antenna can be used anywhere you wish – whether it is in your home, summer house, or elsewhere. However, it is required that there is sufficient antenna strength in the area where it will be used. There are several websites where you can see the coverage for the area where you will use the antenna. On some websites, you simply enter the address, and then you will see the coverage in the searched area.

A digital living room antenna receives DVB T or DVB T2 signals depending on which model you choose. These signals are terrestrial signals that are amplified and sent to your TV receiver. DVB is an abbreviation for Digital Video Broadcasting and is a standard for how digital TV is sent from the provider and received at home in the living room. Our antennas receive both vertical and horizontal signals for improved reception.

Passive TV antennas amplify the signal to a lesser degree, while active antennas can amplify the signal much more. However, active antennas require that they be connected to power, which is not an option for passive antennas.

The difference between passive and active digital antennas

We carry many different models in our range. When a digital antenna is to be installed indoors, it is often an advantage that it looks nice, does not take up too much space, and is discreet. We offer models that can be mounted on a wall or placed on a stand that comes with it on the TV table or in a shelf.

A passive living room antenna typically amplifies the DVB T signal by 4 dB. A passive TV antenna is simply connected to the TV, after which you can receive the signal.

An active living room antenna has a power supply that amplifies the TV signal. The extent to which it amplifies the signal depends on the selected model, which is why we have several different models.

Besides connecting the antenna cable to your TV, it also needs power via the included power plug. The advantage of active antennas is that they amplify the received signal more than passive antennas, allowing them to receive weaker signals – and still send these to your TV in good quality.

Digital living room antenna – the general technology behind

In our selection, you will find digital antennas that receive both DVB T – DVB T2 signals. These are essentially the same, but DVB T2 signals are a newer developed technology and provide an improved signal.

Many of our digital TV antennas are equipped with an LTE/4G filter. This is particularly advantageous if you need to receive TV signals in an area with a lot of mobile phone activity – or where there are very powerful towers that can cause interference – also known as noise – in the reception. Some of our models are also equipped with an active GSM noise filter that ensures even better protection against this unwanted noise in the reception of the TV signal.

In our large selection of indoor antennas, you will also find models that can receive both VHF, UHF, FM, DAB, and DAB+ signals. If you need to use the digital living room antenna to receive radio signals, it is especially important to ensure the ability to receive DAB+ signals, as both FM and regular DAB signals will soon be removed from the airwaves – and radio programs must be received via the internet or via DAB+ signals.

When choosing which digital living room antenna meets your needs, it is a good idea to find out where the nearest transmission tower is located. There are many transmission towers in Denmark, but there will always be differences in how far the nearest tower is. If your antenna is to be used in an area where the distance to the nearest tower is considerable, it may be advantageous to choose a digital antenna that reaches far. In our range, we have models that reach over 20 km.

Living room antenna – first technical, then appearance

Once you have gotten an overview of what technical specifications are necessary for your digital living room antenna to meet your needs, you just need to choose how it should look.

Some choose a classic round living room antenna, where the appearance does not hide what it is. Others prefer a more modern style, where the antenna appears discreet and made from modern materials – often resembling a flat, discreet speaker. Many of these can be mounted on a wall, placed on a shelf, or set on a stand that comes with it.

The options are many, so it is solely your wishes and expectations for appearance and placement that determine which model is the right choice for you.
