Magnifying Lamp – Huge selection of magnifying lamps – fluorescent or LED diodes

A magnifying lamp is essentially a magnifying glass with a light. You get both a magnifying glass and the right light when you need to see the small details on things that may otherwise be difficult to see with the naked eye. It is an exceptionally useful invention that is an invaluable aid or work tool for many people.

Not everything can be seen properly with the naked eye. If you struggle to see small things – and this is something that often increases with age – most issues can fortunately be corrected with a visit to a professional optician who can provide glasses that address the minor flaws.

For some, the problem cannot be solved with glasses alone. Even though a visual impairment can be corrected with glasses to a large extent, many need more help – especially when it comes to reading printed text.

In such cases, you can benefit from purchasing one of our illuminated magnifying glasses, which both magnify the text and provide good lighting, so you don't unnecessarily strain your eyes.

However, it is not just people with glasses who benefit from a magnifying glass with light. Even with normal and perfect vision, there are many situations where it becomes difficult. For example, try reading the technical specifications on a power supply or the product declaration on a can of mackerel in tomato. In both cases, even people without visual impairments will struggle if they have to read these with the naked eye.

Magnifying Lamps for Both Leisure and Work

Magnifying lamps are used for countless purposes, where small things are read, studied, or worked on with small components – and good lighting is also needed.

For precision work with the assembly of small components or, for example, soldering on small circuit boards, a magnifying lamp is not just a pleasant aid, but a necessary working tool.

In many fine mechanics and electronics workshops, magnifying lamps are placed in many strategic locations, as it is important to be able to use them everywhere and at all times. The same applies to many sewing rooms, where small beads and sequins are often sewn on. At opticians and watchmakers, you will also see with great certainty that magnifying lamps are used in daily work.

Many also enjoy magnifying lamps for their hobby and leisure activities at home. If you are tinkering with electronics and/or soldering, you may already have a magnifying lamp – otherwise, it should be at the top of your wish list.

Many other hobby-related areas also find use for magnifying lamps. If you are a philatelist or coin collector, you probably already have a magnifying glass. You can advantageously find a magnifying lamp in our range, after which you will experience how much better everything looks when there is also good light on the object you are observing closely.

Every Home Should Have a Magnifying Lamp

When you have purchased a magnifying lamp for your kitchen table, desk, work table, or sewing table, you will surely wonder how you managed without it before.

You will likely – like many others – find out how often you use it. If you need to see something that is printed small, check a solder joint, sew a few beads on your daughter's favorite dress, or replace the small button cell battery in a miniature clock, you will most likely do this with the help of the magnifying lamp.

It is also the magnifying lamp that comes into play when your son comes in with a small splinter in his finger, which is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. The collaboration between a magnifying lamp and a pair of tweezers will make you the day’s hero.

Therefore, find the magnifying lamp that appeals to you in our range today and experience all the small detailed joys of life – and at the same time in perfect light that ensures you no longer have to squint your eyes together.

Do you care about details – or are details an important part of your work or leisure life? Then a magnifying lamp can be an invaluable aid in your everyday life. Magnifying lamps not only magnify an object but also illuminate it with perfect light so you have a complete overview of the important details you need to see clearly and distinctly. In our range, you will find a magnifying lamp that makes your daily work easier or gives you the full enjoyment of all the details in your favorite stamp – and at the same time allows you to see everything that is “written small”.

Magnifying Lamp Comes in Many Models

Do you need a magnifying lamp with a base, or do you need a magnifying lamp that can be mounted on your desk? In our range, we carry magnifying lamps in several models and price ranges.

Some of our different models stand directly on the table, while others can be mounted on the edge of the table via a sturdy clamp that holds the magnifying lamp in place.

You can choose a model with a single short arm that doesn't take up much space on the table – or you can choose a model with a double adjustable arm that reaches over a larger area on the work table.

Thus, you will find magnifying lamp models that can be mounted on the desk, where it is screwed tightly, but you can also find models that can be mounted via a wall bracket. If you have a desk located by a wall, this could be a solution that ensures you both a good piece of equipment at hand while preserving or restoring workspace on the desk.

The size of the lens itself also varies from model to model – it makes a difference if you need to see a single stamp at a time or if you need to overview an entire circuit board.

Different Light Sources

Our models include two different light sources; fluorescent or LED diodes. The models with fluorescent lights are a bit cheaper and may be the right choice if you don't use your magnifying lamp that often. The fluorescent tubes provide good light, are in energy class A, and can be replaced at a very reasonable price if they become defective or become a bit “tired” over time.

The models with LED diodes provide a very sharp and constant light. These are in energy class A+ and can be advantageously chosen if you use your magnifying lamp a lot. LED diodes are not replaced as easily as a fluorescent tube but provide the same constant brightness for up to 20,000 hours, which means you will have a well-functioning magnifying lamp with sharp, constant, and precise light for many years to come.

The Number of Diodes

How many diodes should my magnifying lamp have? It is difficult to give a completely concrete answer to that, but it should not prevent us from providing you with guidance on what the number of diodes in your magnifying lamp means if you choose to buy a magnifying lamp with either LED or SMD LED compared to a magnifying lamp with fluorescent lights.

The number of diodes in your magnifying lamp affects several things. The number of diodes in your magnifying lamp plays a role in how well and steadily your magnifying lamp lights.

Here, the rule of thumb is that the more diodes your magnifying lamp has, the better and more stable light it provides. This means you should consider how many diodes your magnifying lamp should have in relation to the level of detailed work you need it for.

It would be easy to say that you should always go for the magnifying lamp with the most diodes, but consider here whether the magnifying lamp you are thinking of buying covers more than what you actually need. You will be surprised at how few diodes a magnifying lamp actually needs to deliver a really strong light that gives you clarity on the details you wish to highlight under the lens.

The number of diodes in the magnifying lamps in our range typically varies between 30 and 90. If you are in doubt about how many diodes your future magnifying lamp should have, you are always welcome to contact our customer service. Our dedicated staff is ready to answer your questions and guide you so you find exactly the solution that best meets your needs.

What is the Difference Between LED and SMD LED?

LED is not just LED. There is indeed a difference between whether your magnifying lamp has LED or SMD LED lights. But what is the difference? We will clarify the differences between LED and SMD LED here.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which, put simply, means that the light comes from a diode.

SMD stands for Surface-Mount Device. SMD is more compact – and therefore has a smaller size than the traditional LED diodes. They therefore provide a stronger light than traditional LED diodes while using less power.

The Brightness of Your Magnifying Lamp

Your choice of light source, whether it be fluorescent, LED, or SMD LED, influences the brightness you will be working with and how stable your light will be when you are working with it. It also affects the power consumption of your magnifying lamp, as well as how often you should expect to replace your light source.

If this is your first time buying and using a magnifying lamp, it may seem a bit confusing and difficult to choose the right one when you need to assess what brightness you require.

When you need to evaluate how strong the brightness – or light flow should be in your magnifying lamp, you can look at the number of lumens. Lumens are the term used to describe the amount of light emitted by a bulb.

By looking at the lumens of the magnifying lamp, you can more easily assess the brightness of the various light sources. The rule here is that a higher number of lumens corresponds to a sharper brightness of the specific magnifying lamp.

The number of lumens, abbreviated lm, can vary. They usually lie between 80 and 800 lm. This range can, however, be slightly narrowed, as it often only varies that much when it comes to magnifying lamps with adjustable brightness. Otherwise, the number of lumens tends to remain relatively stable between 400 lm and 800 lm.

Of course, you will also find magnifying lamps with very high brightness. Here, the number of lumens will be between 900 lm and up to around 1,100 lm, which you will find, for example, in Nedis MAGL12W.

The Size of the Lens

The size of the lenses in magnifying lamps varies. Here, it is usually the diameter of the lens that is indicated when measurements are provided.

However, the variation is not so extreme. The lens size of magnifying lamps, the diameter, is indicated in millimeters. The lens size typically ranges between 100 mm and 130 mm. However, you will also find large lens sizes, where the diameter is over 150 mm.

The Strength of the Magnifying Glass

Among the magnifying lamps you will find in our range, most have one thing in common – besides being good magnifying lamps. The strength of the magnifying glass in most of our magnifying lamps is nearly always the same.

The strength of the magnification – that is, the magnifying glass in the lens of the magnifying lamp, is almost always 1.75 times. This means that most magnifying lamps can enlarge objects under the magnifying glass by nearly two times.

Spare Parts for Your Magnifying Lamp

Don't worry, if your magnifying lamp breaks, or if you drop it on the floor, it doesn’t mean you have to buy a whole new magnifying lamp.

In our assortment, you will also find different kinds of spare parts for magnifying lamps. With these, you can replace parts of your magnifying lamp yourself if necessary.

You will find both spare magnifying lenses and spare bulbs. Here, you can replace these parts in your Nedis MAGL12W magnifying lamp.

Additionally, our range also includes wall mounts for magnifying lamps. Here, you can mount your magnifying lamp directly on the wall, so you get a strong working tool right at your fingertips while preserving or reclaiming workspace on your desk.
