VGA Cable - Many Models and Lengths - Fast Delivery

VGA cables are available in many different models and lengths. Often, a VGA cable is also referred to as a display cable or monitor cable, as it is used to transfer image/video to a screen. Although most newer devices today have HDMI ports, there are still many devices that use VGA connectors, which is why using a VGA cable can still be relevant. Here at AvXperten, you will find a large assortment of VGA cables in various lengths. If you need a VGA cable, we always offer fast delivery, so you don't have to wait long for your new display cable.

What is VGA?

VGA is an analog video standard for transferring images (video) that has existed since 1987. VGA stands for Video Graphics Array and is referred to as an "array" and therefore not an "adapter." This is because VGA has been implemented since the beginning as a single chip that can be integrated directly onto a computer's motherboard. VGA can only handle image/video and not sound. Since VGA is an analog signal, the quality of the VGA cable itself, the quality of its pins as well as the distance from the computer to the screen can all affect the video quality. At the same time, VGA contains no form of security or management of digital rights. In the past, VGA was often associated with a screen resolution of 640x480. Today, the situation is very different. A VGA connection can now reach up to 1080p full HD without problems, which is why it can still be relevant to be familiar with and use a VGA connection. VGA connectors are often referred to as RGBHV, HD15 connectors, XGA connectors, or SVGA connectors. Furthermore, there are many who casually refer to a VGA cable as a display cable or a monitor cable, while it is quite a common mistake to write avg-cable instead of VGA cable.

VGA Cables

A VGA cable is today compatible with almost all computers, both desktops and laptops. Despite the fact that these types of cables have been on the market since their launch in 1987, when computer giant IBM revolutionized the market for cabling and digital transfer, VGA remains the most widely used form of transfer today. We sell VGA cables in many different lengths. This gives you the greatest flexibility, so you are not dependent on reorganizing your entire setup at home and can simultaneously enjoy a beautiful digital image in the living room without worrying about whether you need to move your machine. The majority of our VGA cables are full HD and come with a male/male connection. You can recognize VGA cables by the fact that they typically have fourteen pins in a row and connect to the computer with two screws on each side. At the same time, our VGA cables come in many different colors that discreetly blend into your existing decor at home.

VGA Extension Cables

If you still feel that your VGA cable does not give you enough length to operate with, we at avXperten also sell VGA extension cables. This is an alternative to investing in new cables, which is especially beneficial if you only need the extender on single occasions like a picture presentation at a family birthday or if you are holding an important meeting where everything on the projector needs to be crystal clear. We sell extension cables for VGA up to 30 meters, so there is plenty of opportunity for a flexible setup. You are also guaranteed the well-known good quality for both image and sound as all our extension cables are noise shielded through the installation with the popular ferrite core.

VGA Cables with Audio

Now that we are talking about audio, we also sell VGA cables with special audio connectors. This type of cable is particularly suitable for game consoles and devices that do not have the option to connect via HDMI. It is often a necessity since a VGA cable by itself is not capable of transmitting audio signals. The design of a VGA cable with audio connectors is the same as that of an ordinary VGA cable - the only difference is that a jack connector is connected in parallel for audio output to the television, a projector, or a computer. This is especially useful if you are playing games or watching movies, where sound is, of course, an essential part of the experience, but it is also particularly useful if you are holding video meetings at your workplace. Like our traditional VGA cables, this type also comes in many varying sizes. The audio cable is often a bit shorter but runs parallel to the VGA cable, so a long audio connector is not necessary. Thus, you also avoid annoying and cumbersome cable chaos.

VGA Cables with Angle

The angled VGA cables are more flexible than their counterparts without angles, as they can easily and conveniently be placed behind furniture. With an integrated angle on the cable, you do not have to bend it at unnatural angles to fit into the decor, thereby potentially exposing your VGA cable to damage. They come in various angled bends, so you can find the perfect solution for you. At the same time, our VGA cables with an angle are of course also double-shielded, so you are protected from dirt and grime in them. They are particularly smart for connecting between a television and a wall, or if you have placed your game console in a TV unit where cable access is not the easiest task. If you live in a small space, the flexible option of a VGA cable with an angle is also a good solution, as this cable layout generally requires less space.

What Can a VGA Cable Be Used For?

As VGA is an analog video signal, it can be used to transfer image and video to a screen/monitor. In this regard, it is one of the most common analog standards for transferring image/video between a computer and a computer monitor. For example, you might also need a VGA monitor cable when connecting a projector, a standard monitor, or a plasma screen. Many people also use VGA cables in conjunction with a home cinema, as it can provide a beautiful and clear picture.

VGA 14 Pin Cable and VGA 15 Pin Cable – What is the Difference?

You may have heard of both VGA 14 pin cables and VGA 15 pin cables without being entirely sure of the difference between the two. Although the difference is not large, it does matter whether you choose a VGA cable with 14 or 15 pins. Before VGA was developed in 1987, most personal computers in the late 80s used a so-called DE-9 connector. But when VGA was developed, they chose to make the DE-9 connector wider so that it could accommodate 15 pins. The rest of the physical dimensions of the DE-9 connector were not changed. However, the hole for pin number 9 was closed off, creating a kind of "key" that ensured that only cables made for VGA video could be connected. These VGA cables therefore only have 14 pins. After this, it became standard for VGA video cables to leave pin number 9 disconnected. Later, the standard was changed so that modern VGA cables use all 15 pins. This is because today we need all 15 pins to be able to use various applications within, among other things, the home cinema market. Some screens can function perfectly with VGA 14 pin connectors that do not have pin number 9, as long as power is supplied from an outlet, while other screens do not register VGA cables without pin number 9 at all. Unfortunately, there is still quite a bit of confusion around 14/15 pin VGA cables, as the old 14 pin cables are still produced and are often mistakenly called 15 pin VGA cables. Today, digital content can also be transmitted via VGA to a television screen and not just computer monitors.

Connection Between VGA Cable Quality and Cable Length

When you are buying a VGA cable, it is important that you choose a cable that fits your needs. Display cables with VGA connectors come in many different models and lengths, making it easy to find a monitor cable that suits your specific situation. However, you should be aware that there is often a correlation between the quality of the transmitted video/image and the length of the VGA cable itself. It is generally recommended that you do not choose a cable length of more than 5 meters, as you risk the signal losing power and quality if it has to travel through cables longer than 5 meters. However, you can easily get longer VGA cables, but when you use cables that are as long as 10 meters, you risk the color or image on the screen becoming distorted. In the case of really long cables over 15 meters, the quality is usually limited, and the resolution may only reach 640x460 pixels in some cases. In contrast to many other video standards, VGA has a unique ability to adapt in cases of reduced bandwidth. This means that a VGA monitor cable has the capability to automatically lower the screen resolution to maintain video playback quality. An example could be if a 1080p full HD signal does not reach the screen properly, the resolution will automatically be reduced to, for example, 600x800 to ensure that an image is still shown on the screen.
