WiFi bulbs - Lighting for the future home

Here on the page you will find our complete selection of modern WiFi/smart bulbs.

This type of bulbs can be used to control the lighting in your home, wake you up in the morning, and reduce the risk of burglary when you are not home.

Most people have been used to getting up from the sofa to turn on the light over the coffee table or drive home to turn off the light when they realize they left without turning it off.

With a WiFi bulb, you can easily turn off the light directly from the sofa or bed.

It's, for example, smart for you who like to control the light directly from your phone, or even with your voice via a Smart Home Hub, etc.

If you already have a setup with smart devices in your home, such as a smart speaker, smart TV, WiFi washing machine, etc., it is easy to connect the bulbs to the same system, as they are fully compatible with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

8 things you should know before buying WiFi bulbs

It is important to choose the right WiFi bulb for your needs - you can read more about important things you should know below.

#1 - Color or just white light?

Consider whether the bulb should be able to shine in all colors of the rainbow or if it is enough with a white that has different shades of white.

If the bulb is to be placed in the kitchen, there is often a need for a bulb in white shades, but if the bulb is to be placed in the children's room or in the living room, it can be very fun with the bulb in colors.

Often, the color can be controlled, for example, from an app on your smartphone or tablet, and in some cases can also be set to use different color patterns, etc.

#2 - Same brand as you already have or another?

If you already have WiFi bulbs, consider whether you should have the same brand or a different one.

Not all brands' accompanying apps can manage bulbs or smart devices from other brands.

It is therefore clearly an advantage to choose WiFi bulbs from the same brand for your entire setup, so you are ensured the most user-friendly experience.

#3 - Type of bulb

There are several types of WiFi bulbs, so it is typically quite uncomplicated to find a replacement for the old bulb.

The 4 most commonly used types are:

Bulb type

Characteristics

Used for

E27

The bulb has a large base and is known from the old-fashioned incandescent bulbs with a large base.

This type can be used in almost all lamps designed for large bases.

E14

The bulb has a small base and is known from old-fashioned incandescent bulbs with a small base.

This type can be used in all lamps designed for small bases. E14 is also available as a candle bulb.

GU10

is a fitting type that is most often used in spotlights.

It is quite widespread and can be used in many floor lamps, recessed spots, and ceiling lamps designed for GU 10 fittings.

B22

The fitting is quite a special fitting and does not fit in many common lamps.

It is often used in public places where there is a risk of the bulb being stolen, because the bulb is difficult to remove from the fitting. This base is also known as a bayonet base.

#4 - Can often be controlled with an app

Wifi bulbs are part of the future.

The future is to have a so-called smart home.

By smart home, it is understood to be a home where the electronics can be set up for automation or control via an app and Wifi, or with voice control via Google Home Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

WiFi bulbs are essentially just an electric bulb in LED format.

You can control all the lamps that have WiFi bulbs with your smartphone through an app, where you can also set fixed routines and automation.

So if you occasionally forget to turn off the light when you leave in the morning, you can turn it off via an app, no matter where you are.

Practically, you convert any lamp into a smart device with a WiFi bulb that can connect to the wireless network and thereby can be controlled via an app.

#5 - Wifi bulbs as burglary protection

WiFi bulbs can be very effective as theft and burglary protection.

The light can be set to turn on when you come home, at specific times, and turn off at specific times.

You can also turn on and off manually via the app.

Furthermore, you can set the bulbs to turn on within a certain interval, not at a fixed time, but for example, plus or minus 15 minutes.

You can also mount WiFi bulbs in your outdoor lamps and connect them to a sensor that also turns on a camera.

In this way, turning the light on and off appears more natural and can scare potential burglars away.

#6 - Savings with Wifi bulbs

WiFi bulbs are very energy-efficient lighting of the home.

They are LED bulbs and are known for their long lifespan and low energy consumption.

LED bulbs use only a fraction of the power compared to ordinary incandescent bulbs, making it possible to save on energy while still enjoying fantastic light.

An E27 9W LED bulb provides the same brightness as a 60W bulb, but only uses 9W.

Traditionally, for example, spotlight bulbs have been expensive to keep in lamps, but now you can get them in LED instead of halogen.

This means that even a lamp with spotlight bulbs can become highly energy-saving.

The bulbs do not need to be replaced as often as ordinary incandescent bulbs since their lifespan is significantly longer.

This means that money is also saved in the longer term.

When the light is controlled with a fixed routine or automation, you avoid the light being on when it is not needed.

For example, you can set it to turn on at sunset and turn off at a time when you normally go to bed.

This way, you do not have to determine when you need light, because the app knows.

You also avoid sitting in a room that is too dark, where you strain your eyes, because the light turns on automatically.

#7 - Create atmosphere with colors

You can create a completely unique atmosphere in your home by using WiFi bulbs with colors.

Whether you need to work, do homework, cook, or relax on the sofa, you can set the perfect light for the specific task at hand.

The colors range from a cool blue over a grainy yellow-white to a warm blood-red color.

The bulbs can be set to change completely automatically between the colors, slowly or quickly.

This means that even teenagers will love the energy-efficient LED bulbs when it's time to celebrate.

#8 - Use the WiFi bulb to energize

The WiFi bulb can be set in different shades that are specially tailored for, for example:

  • extra focus
  • relaxation
  • wake up
  • increased energy

This way, the WiFi bulb can be used to enhance your energy or focus because the light, or the lumen, that the bulb emits is just right for the specific situation.

The light and the color of the light play an important role for the body; you may know this from the dark winter months or have heard about light therapy. In any case, the body can find energy in the right light.

Do you have trouble waking up in the morning and often ignore the alarm clock?

The light can be set to wake you up in the morning by gradually increasing the brightness, allowing you to wake up gently.
