Cheap Turntables in [YEAR] – modern retro nostalgia

Many in the slightly older generation are familiar with putting a vinyl record on the turntable – it was the best sound quality that could be achieved back then when listening to proper music, and many still believe today that the sound of an LP is unmatched by any alternative – neither streaming, CDs nor anything else.

Turntables - over 100 years of history

The history of the turntable goes back many years – actually over 100 years – and the kind of turntable we know today has existed since the late 1950s.

Back then it was not called a turntable but a gramophone, and the vinyl records were called gramophone records.

A gramophone and a turntable are the same today.

A lot of turntables went into retirement in the 1980s, when CDs (Compact Discs) made their debut in the market.

CDs can be defined as electronic gramophone records, and CD players could, using laser technology, play the more compact discs.

As CD players took up less space and were often built into a compact stereo system, they quickly became a popular choice among music enthusiasts and the general consumer.

Technological development moves quickly, and CDs have had to make way for alternatives since then. First came the MP3 players, and since then, CDs have faced competition from streaming and other online music services that anyone can access today via their smartphone.

Renewed popularity and interest in records

While the CD market has shrunk, the LP market has undergone something of a renaissance.

However, are you looking for a CD player? Then check out our selection here

We have also experienced the returning interest in this field, as the demand for turntables has just been getting bigger and bigger, but why do people choose to return to a medium that was thought to be extinct with the advent of CDs?

The LPs have returned, and the same goes for turntables.

Here at avXperten, we believe that there are several different reasons for the renewed popularity of vinyl records and turntables.

The unique, natural sound that disappears during the digitization of audio must undoubtedly be one of the main reasons that vinyl records and turntables are still as popular as they are.

Furthermore, we are quite certain that the aesthetic character of vinyl and turntables and their ability to fill a room with soul is crucial for their renaissance.

Dust off the old record collection and revive the musical memories of the past.

Moreover, we believe that a large, beautiful record collection serves as a kind of identity marker for many. We humans are defined by many things, including our choices and tastes.

With a large visual record collection, one has the opportunity to communicate who and how one is. One does not have that same opportunity if all of one’s music library is stored on a digital device, where it is hidden from the eyes of the world.

Turntables for beginners - quick overview

A turntable is fundamentally a very simple music source. It consists primarily of a rotating electric motor that drives the vinyl at the right speed.

The vibrations created by the turntable arm - also called the stylus - moving in the groove generate electricity, which then comes out in the form of music through the speakers.

If you are completely "green" in the world of turntables, but are faced with the prospect of investing in a turntable, there are some things you should consider beforehand.

The right placement of your turntable

It is important to be aware that a turntable is a rather sensitive device that should therefore be placed on a stable and even surface.

It is not always enough just to place it on a shelf, and you may need to experiment a bit to find the best possible location.

Always place your turntable somewhere with the least risk of damage.

If your turntable is not placed correctly, there is a risk that vibrations and resonances will transmit through the turntable, resulting in poorer sound.

Additionally, you should not place your new turntable next to a speaker or similar, as the influence of the magnetic field can also affect sound quality.

Keep the turntable clean to avoid technical errors

Moreover, the turntable should be kept as clean and neat as possible, as dust and other dirt can also affect the functionality of the turntable.

If you invest in a turntable with a dust cover, keep it closed when the turntable is not in use, but ensure that it can be fully opened when the turntable is to be used.

Choosing speakers and amplifier?

If your amplifier has a turntable input, usually marked 'Phono', you can easily and conveniently connect the turntable directly to the amplifier.

Most speakers and amplifiers with regulated jack/aux cables can be used.

If this is not the case, you will need to invest in a separate RIAA amplifier. If you want the easiest way possible to start playing music on a turntable, you may also choose a turntable with a built-in RIAA amplifier.

If this is built-in, you simply connect the turntable to any modern audio system without needing any additional equipment. And without extra cost for that matter.

How to choose the best turntable

There are many different types of turntables.

Although you may hear different terms like vinyl player, gramophone player, LP player, and USB turntable, most modern turntables are quite similar.

They can all, despite their specific names, play most records.

#1 - With or without cables

When you choose a turntable, it is important to consider what you specifically want to use it for.

For example, if you want to take it on the go or perhaps take it outside, you should consider a turntable that does not require fixed cables or frequent charging.

Conversely, you might choose a slightly larger and more stationary turntable if you only want it to remain in a fixed place in your home.

#2 - Bluetooth features in turntable

When you choose a handheld/portable turntable, you compromise especially on the sound quality, as you do not have the same opportunity to connect large speakers.

However, you can connect some Bluetooth turntables to a sound box or a Bluetooth speaker to significantly enhance their sound quality; this only applies to certain turntables, however.

Bluetooth ensures that you can play music from various devices to your turntable.

Most turntables with Bluetooth can only connect via a device like a computer, smartphone, or tablet, through which you then play music from and through the speakers on your turntable.

If you have one of the more stationary turntables at home, you can freely connect them to your choice of speakers and get fantastic sound when you listen to your records.

#3 - Stereo system with turntable

You can also get a complete package in the form of a stereo system with a built-in turntable.

This solution can often be expanded by adding additional speakers to create surround sound.

A combination of stereo system and turntable is a complete solution.

Relive your old classic records in your own way, and remember to consider where and how you want to use your turntable.

Fortunately, a suitcase turntable is often very affordable, so it can easily be purchased even if you have a larger turntable setup at home.

Turntable with Bluetooth

The biggest upgrade from the old turntables must surely be both the USB addition but especially the integration of Bluetooth technology.

Today, most turntables come with Bluetooth functionality that allows you to play songs from your smartphone, computer, or tablet through the speakers of the turntable.

  • Free yourself from cables and transfer songs via Bluetooth to your turntable's speakers.

This also means that you no longer have to deal with annoying cables getting tangled, as you can simply play wirelessly from an external Bluetooth device.

Some of the more advanced turntables with Bluetooth can even connect to an external speaker, allowing you to play your old records with new and improved sound quality.

  • Some turntables can also connect to external speakers via Bluetooth.

A Bluetooth turntable is definitely the obvious choice, as it ensures that you can always play music in one way or another.

Different designs in turntables

Turntables come in many different designs. They all feature the characteristic rotating platter, where you place the vinyl records, but from there, the design varies significantly.

One cannot escape the fact that turntables often have a retro look that strongly influences the room in which the turntable is placed.

However, there are also many turntables that have an almost futuristic appearance. This is quite interesting, as it reflects a meeting of two eras.

Many prefer traditional designs, but there are also modern versions today.

Before acquiring a turntable, you should consider what expression you want your turntable to have.

Should it have a retro appearance, or do you think a more modern version suits you better? Your decision should be based on which room the turntable will be placed in. It should complement the decor as best as possible.

Turntables allow for time and immersion

In the midst of our busy everyday lives, where almost everything can be done quickly via electronics and digital media, many Danes have recognized the value in slowing down a bit.

This can be seen in many different contexts; for example, there has been a rise in people growing their own vegetables, cooking from scratch, and baking their own cakes and breads.

Aesthetics and nostalgic elements are the focus.

Thus, immersion is something that some people have begun to strive for, and this immersion stands in contrast to many parts of society that are characterized by changeability and chaos.

This trend is also seen in music – and it has given the turntable a renaissance, with a strong desire to take a physical vinyl record and place it on the turntable, which has surged in recent years.

The vast selection has led to far too many choices.

Many have rediscovered the joy of entering a physical store, browsing through the selection of LP records, reading the cover, and deciding which music to bring home for the vinyl collection.

This offers a different and physical experience that digitally downloaded music cannot match.

The range of digital content is also completely overwhelming for many people, which is why having a more fixed framework for music can be beneficial.

Get closer to the music

Popularity among turntables is thus steadily rising – both among old vinyl lovers and among newcomers to the turntable scene.

People who have never owned a turntable are today buying their first turntable and corresponding vinyl records, even though there are many alternatives.

Even very young individuals who did not grow up with turntables suddenly have an interest.

This just shows how trendy it has become to embrace old values and enjoy music in a different way.

The special warm sound and the experience of having the music in your hands are among the reasons why vinyl records and turntables are back in style.

Modern streaming services can be overwhelming

Having the music in your hands is an important part of owning a turntable.

Yes, you physically hold the vinyl before it is placed on the turntable; however, there is much greater access to images and history when you choose vinyl records over various online streaming services, such as Spotify, Google Play, or similar.

On the various streaming services, you just "put on" a piece of music, while with a turntable, you are essentially putting on a piece of history.

Playing a record you own is more personal.

This holds true whether it is a new or an old release, as there is undeniably more effort put into giving the user a good experience with the vinyl itself.

The turntable and the vinyl records give us the opportunity to get "closer" to the music, which many people appreciate today.

There is no doubt that there is something different and more interesting about listening to music on a turntable compared to an audio system or via online streaming services.

So, if you appreciate good sound and invest more in music than just the individual tracks, we can definitely guarantee that you will be very happy playing music via a turntable.

Vinyl records or digital downloads

Experts and enthusiasts in sound and music continuously debate whether vinyl records played on a turntable or digitally downloaded music to a hard drive provides the best sound.

Some believe that digital music is purer and spans a wider spectrum than a vinyl record can reproduce.

Quality or preference? Nostalgia is unmatched.

Others believe that vinyl records provide a more listener-friendly version, where the tones are softer and more natural – and this discussion likely will never end.

No matter what various experts think, it is a fact that turntables have become quite trendy and are sold in an ever-increasing number – providing a great music experience to follow.

Turntable – for both young and old

Although many discarded their turntables in the 80s and began buying CDs, many of the old LP records have survived in basements and attics.

These are increasingly being brought back into the light – and many have again purchased a turntable so that their favorite records can be appreciated.

Old record collections have suddenly gained new relevance.

If you also have old LPs stored away, you should treat yourself to the pleasure of buying a turntable and experiencing the music that made – and makes – you happy.

The younger generation has also opened their eyes to the experience of taking a physical cover out of the shelf, taking the record out, placing it on the turntable, and indulging in the beautiful tones it produces.

The new generation can gain great joy from the musical memories of the past.

This is a completely different experience than finding a track on, for example, Spotify and doing a quick download to your computer or mobile phone.

Music from a turntable allows for immersion – and many enjoy the music more when a little effort is required first.

Turntables and vinyl records are popular among musicians and record companies

The resurgence of popularity of turntables is evident in the wide selection of brand new vinyl records being released on the market.

You can still release and buy "a record".

Many musicians and bands release their new music digitally but also release the music on vinyl records – in fact, some have opted to release their music solely on vinyl.

There are also more and more re-releases of older music now being launched on vinyl – just as it was originally released.

Get started with a new turntable

In avXperten’s large selection of turntables, you will find both smaller suitcase models, which take up less space and can be brought out when the desire to play your vinyl records arises – as well as larger models that are better suited for a fixed placement in connection with your audio setup.

You will also find turntables built into a complete audio system, where you can have a turntable, CD player, and radio in one unit.

Such a turntable does not take up much space, and it ensures that you do not have to deal with the hassle of pulling cables between different devices. An easy and economically affordable solution that gives you multiple music options in one package – and at a very reasonable price.

Vinyl and digital – USB turntables can do both

Several of our turntables can be said to be extremely modern, as they allow you to transfer vinyl records to a USB stick or your computer and phone.

While playing the vinyl record, you can transfer your favorite tracks to digital files that you can take with you and play on various electronic media when you are on the go.

Modern turntables have a range of features that can connect them with other devices.

This allows you to listen to your favorite vinyl records no matter where you are. This is incredibly smart, as this feature takes into account a vinyl record's limitation, which is that it is not as flexible and mobile as a portable music player.

At avXperten, we have a multitude of different turntables. You will find both beautiful suitcase models that you can take with you on your travels, as well as more stationary models. There is great variation in the selection regarding style, functionality, and price range.

Find a good and cheap turntable at avXperten

If you belong to the group that believes the sound is best on a turntable, or if you have a large collection of vinyl records sitting in the attic or basement, there is ample opportunity today to give those old records a new life.

There are indeed many retailers of turntables, and we are one of the very best.

Wide selection of turntables at avXperten

Here with us, you will find a sea of different turntables, each with its own qualities.

The rich and warm sound from vinyl records is neither necessarily expensive nor complicated. What is important is that you choose the right turntable that can meet your needs.

As the popularity of turntables has grown, the supply of turntables has also increased.

There are therefore countless different turntables on the market in various variations, shapes, and colors. They come in all price ranges and with varying quality.

Turntables in many price ranges

As with everything else, the same applies to turntables that price and quality go hand in hand.

With us, you will find a wide selection of turntables, and you can be sure that our range includes a turntable that fits perfectly into your home.

We primarily sell turntables in the more affordable range, but we can guarantee that we have carefully selected our range without compromising on quality.

Unfortunately, there are turntables on the market that deliver poor sound and unnecessarily wear down your vinyl records. Therefore, you should also be cautious when choosing your new turntable.

Turntables from well-known brands

Here on this page, you will find turntables from good and reputable brands like Sony, Pioneer, Lenco, Technisat, and many more.

Turntables have once again become a big hit. A multitude of artists and record labels release their music in both digital form and as vinyl records for play on a turntable.

Revive your record collection with a good and cheap quality turntable from avXperten.

Some music can even only be found on vinyl records. Find a turntable in our large selection and experience the joy of rediscovering your old LPs – or follow the trend and buy your new music on vinyl.

Listening to music from a turntable allows time for immersion, and the music is enjoyed better and more intensely.
