What is a USB cable?

USB cables are used to transfer power, data, or both between electronic devices. USB stands for Universal Serial Bus.

USB is a standard term used for several different versions of interfaces and connections between computers, printers, chargers, phones, and other electronic devices.

If you know exactly which USB cable or connector you need, you can check our range of different variations in the menu to the left. They come in a variety of shapes, designs, functions, and qualities, and are available in both male and female connectors.

Fast delivery & high quality

It is almost impossible to find a home or workplace where USB ports are not used. Therefore, it is easy to find yourself lacking a specific cable to connect your devices, and that is why we focus on fast delivery and advice.

Be aware!

There can be a significant difference in the speed of data transfer and charging depending on which cable is used. Additionally, the length, durability, and design can vary greatly from cable to cable.

If you want to know more about the different shapes and standards of cables available, you can benefit from reading here. We help you find the right type of cable you need that best fits your requirements.

USB cable B-A / A-B for printers

At avXperten, we have a large selection of USB cables, both in standard size A and in sizes B and micro B. USB B male to USB A male is the cable most of us know, and it is considered the USB standard.

This is the cable you often use to connect your computer to other devices, including some types of printers, many types of external hard drives, and older digital cameras.

Most of us have one or more USB A male to USB A male cables at home. USB A male to USB B male is generally used to connect your computer to larger external devices. USB B cables are also USB to USB cables and are used to connect two different devices with USB ports.

You can find both large USB B cables and smaller USB micro cables. The standard USB B cable is the one you often use to connect your computer to your printer. It is known as USB A male to USB B male.

USB B micro cables

USB B micro cables are smaller than USB A and regular USB B cables. They are often used in newer digital cameras, phones, and other USB-powered devices with smaller ports than what we are used to from the classic USB A cable.

A USB A male to USB B male cable can be used to charge mobile phones using your computer or another USB device. Due to the EU's standardizations in the mobile market, you can use this type of cable for most newer smartphones - apart from iPhones.

You can use it for newer models of Samsung, HTC, Blackberry, LG, Sony Ericsson, and T-Mobile phones. You can also find USB B micro ports on the latest portable external hard drives that receive power directly from the computer.

How to distinguish

You can often determine if you need A, B, or B micro cables by looking at the port of the device you want to connect to another device.

If the port is a little over 1 cm (12 mm) wide and about ½ cm (4.5 mm) high, it is a USB A male cable.

If you have a port that is not completely square, and is somewhat narrower, just under 9 mm (8.45 mm) in width and 7.26 mm in height, meaning a port that is almost as high as it is wide, you should look for a USB B cable.

Finally, you can recognize USB B micro cables because they are very small at around 7 mm (6.8 mm) in width and 1.8–3 mm in height, depending on which generation of USB B mini/micro you are looking for.

With us, you won't go empty-handed, and you can order your USB cables directly here on the website. We have all types of cables, so we certainly also have the cable you are looking for.

The latest USB cables

USB cables transfer data at high speed and high quality. Some of the latest USB cables, USB 3.0 and 3.1, can also perform duplex transfers. This means that with a USB 3.0 or 3.1 cable, you can both send and receive data simultaneously.

USB 3.0 cables are also called superspeed cables because they can transfer data at speeds of up to 4.8 Gbps, although the average speed is around 3.2 Gbps.

USB 3.0 cables are undoubtedly impressive, but they are actually not the most impressive. The most impressive USB cables are USB C, which are twice as fast as USB 3.0 cables.

USB C cables are superior in all aspects, so whether you want a fast charging cable or a cable that can transfer data lightning fast, a USB cable is top of the line on the market.

We always ensure that we have the best selection of USB cables for you. It is important that the selection is diverse and wide, and that all products are of high quality.

We have classic A male to A male cables, A male to B male cables, and A male to B male micro cables.

Our cables come in different colors and lengths because we know that all our customers have different needs. We are always available to help you find the products that match you best.

You are also welcome to browse our site and look at the many different USB cables we offer.

Take a look at the devices you want to connect to each other and find the plug that fits them. You can order all our products online, and we ensure that they are sent home to you or your nearest post office, depending on what suits you best.

Charging cables for mobile phones

Most people can use a USB cable to charge their mobile phone. Today, we use our mobile phones for many things, and therefore it is handy to have easy access to charging them.

Although newer phones are often good at holding a charge for many hours, none of them last forever.

The more you use your phone, the more often it needs to be charged. We use the phone both at home and when we are out. We also use it in the car, where it can be used as GPS or to play music, for example.

You can use a USB cable to charge your phone. You can do this in different ways, depending on where you need to charge your phone.

If it is at home, you can often connect a USB cable to your charger plug that goes into a power outlet. However, you can also buy other adapters so you can connect your phone to the cigarette lighter in the car if there is not already a USB port.

A flexible solution

Since a USB charging cable can be used in several ways and almost anywhere, it is therefore a flexible and good solution.

Most people can benefit from a charging cable as it is easy to find a place to connect it. This way, you are assured not to run out of power, as long as you remember your USB cable.

In several cases, you will also be able to use your USB cable for example your tablet or handheld gaming consoles. You can easily switch between different options and electronic devices, so you keep track of the power level on all your devices. Be sure to check if your mobile phone or any other electronic device can be connected via a USB charging cable.

Also, be aware of the different types of cables that may suit specific types of devices. This way, you can ensure you get the right cable in the first place.

Often, a charger will come with your mobile phone when you buy it, but no electronics last forever, and therefore it is not unthinkable that at some point you may need to invest in a new charger. In that case, you can find one with us.

USB cables for data transfer

You can also buy cables that can be used for data transfer. For example, you may have something on one electronic device that you want to transfer to another device. Here, you can also use a USB cable, as long as your device supports such a cable..

The history of USB

USB, Universal Serial Bus, was invented in 1994 by a consortium of seven companies, some of which you may have heard of: Microsoft, IBM, Intel, DEC, Compaq, NEC, and Nortel.

The basic idea was to make it easier to connect external devices to a computer, which is why new computers have much fewer connection ports than they used to.

A team working at the technology company Intel, led by computer architect Ajay V. Bhatt, created the first standard solution back in 1995, with USB 1.0 being released the following year.

Since then, there has been massive development. USB is today the most widely used interface for connections between a wide range of technologies. Therefore, the forms and functions of the cables also vary, and improvements have been made continuously.

In April 2000, USB 2.0. High Speed was released. This is where the development of the technology really accelerated, and since then USB has held a significant share of the market.

In November 2008, the Super Speed cable was launched. At the time, it was completely groundbreaking, but it was also surpassed by a new model, namely USB C, which is currently the best in USB technology.

Be aware of these qualities

Our professional staff is always updated with the latest trends in IT. Therefore, we have ensured that we have the best USB 3.0 cables as well as USB C cables. You can therefore be certain to get the cream of the crop in cables if you shop with us.

Below, we mention a number of elements you should be aware of when choosing which cable you need.

Charging speed

Do you remember the first time you used a high-speed charger? Or maybe you’ve tried losing your lightning-fast charger and then going back to an older USB cable.

There is a significant difference in charging speed, and in the beginning, many were deeply fascinated by how quickly their new smartphone was charged.

If you were unlucky enough to lose your charger, you realize how important charging speed is.

Mobile batteries have improved significantly in recent years, but at the same time, we have also started to use more and more power. Screen time has indeed increased.

We believe that charging speed is extremely important, as you do not always have the opportunity to charge your mobile for several hours. Sometimes it needs to be quick, and it’s really nice that it does not take more than a couple of minutes to reach 100%.

Data transfer speed

USB 3.0 cables have a much higher transfer speed than older cables. In addition, they provide the possibility of performing duplex data transfers, meaning transfers where you send and receive data simultaneously.

This is entirely new in generation 3.0, and it was not something you could do with previous USB cables.

Data transfer speed is quite important, in our opinion. You should consider whether you need a USB cable that can transfer data very quickly.

If not, you don’t need to invest in the latest cables. However, if you often transfer large files, you do yourself a great service by investing in either a USB 3.0 or a USB C cable.

Design, durability, and length

When USB technology was invented, it was not with the intention of making a long cable. Therefore, many have been surprised to see long USB cables. This is something that has gradually come to the area.

Normally, a USB connection between your computer and another USB device cannot exceed 5 meters. This is annoying if you have set up your home with the printer standing 8 meters from your computer.

There have slowly been solutions to this by amplifying the signal through the cables. You can find our 10-meter-long cables with a built-in amplifier, for example.

Design can also affect which USB cable you choose. We therefore try to have a diverse selection so that you can find a cable that stylistically is just your taste.

Energy-saving

When charging with a USB 3.0 or USB C, it goes incredibly fast. This means that you save time, but you are also saving electricity. The latest USB cables are much more energy-efficient than their predecessors.

However, for the cables to be super energy-efficient, it is necessary that both your computer and device are optimized for the technology.

So remember that there are many things to consider before you just buy an inexpensive and old cable. However, we have competitive prices in a wide range of the latest cables.

Our customer service is ready to advise you if you have questions of any kind about USB cables.

ATTENTION! Your order is only binding, when we have confirmed your order.
